CS5263 is a DP to HDMI 4K60HZ audio and video converter chip, which can completely replace and be compatible with PS176 in terms of functional features and applications. PS176 is a Display Port 1.2a to HDMI 2.0 protocol converter, which receives video and audio streams from the DisplayPort link and converts them to TMDS output. The TMDS transmitter complies with the HDMI 2.0 specification with a data rate of up to 6Gbps. PS176 supports HDCP 1.4 and HDCP 2.2 repeaters for downstream receivers with embedded keys. PS176 integrates an on-chip microcontroller for system configuration.


Capstone CS5263 is a high performance DP1.4 to HDMI2.0b converter designed to connect DP1.4 source to HDMI2.0b sink. CS5263 integrates DP1.4 compatible receiver and HDMI2.0b compatible receiver transmitter.

The DP interface includes 4 main channels, auxiliary channels and HPD signals. The receiver supports a maximum data rate of 5.4Gbps (HBR2) per channel. The DP receiver combines HDCP1.4 and HDCP2.3 content protection schemes with embedded keys for secure transmission of digital audio and video content.


The HDMI interface includes 4 minimized-transmission differential clock/data pairs, DDC and HPD signals. The HDMI transmitter is capable of supporting data rates up to 6Gpbs, sufficient to handle video resolutions up to FHD1080p 120Hz and UHD 4k 60Hz formats. The HDMI transmitter includes an HDCP engine that supports HDCP1.4 and HDCP2.3. With the inclusion of HDCP, the CS5263 allows for secure transmission of protected content. Embedded keys provide the highest level of HDCP key security.
