The power supply performance, stability performance and safety performance of the power battery pack are key indicators to measure the performance of new energy electric vehicles. In particular, the operating temperature of the battery pack will affect the performance of the battery pack and is directly related to vehicle safety. Power battery safety performance testing equipment improves the safety and reliability of power battery pack cells and battery modules. Battery safety tests usually cover: external short circuits at room temperature or high temperature, overcharging, and forced discharge. Battery environmental safety experiments: low air pressure, temperature cycling, vibration, acceleration shock, falling, extrusion, puncture, heavy object impact, thermal abuse, combustion, etc. The specific safety performance test steps and methods are: The following is a detailed introduction by Gaoge Technology Instruments:

1. Equipment: Battery cell thermal abuse test chamber
Model GAG-H210

Compliance with standards and content
According to GB31241-2014, 7.8, the battery is fully charged and placed in the test chamber. The test chamber is heated at 5℃±2℃/min. When the temperature reaches 130±2℃, it is kept constant for 30 minutes.

Battery short circuit test machine GAG-H211 GAG-H211

According to GB31241-2014, 5.2, after the battery is fully charged, put it into the test box and place it in an environment of 55℃±5℃. After the battery surface reaches 55℃±5℃, connect the positive and negative terminals with wires and ensure that the total resistance is 80±20 milliohms. If the test condition of 20±5℃ is required, a compressor needs to be added.

2.
After the battery is fully charged, place it in a vacuum box at 20℃±5℃, and the pressure inside the box is reduced to 11.6kpa (simulating an altitude of 15240m) for 6 hours.

3. Temperature Cycle Test Chamber GAG-H213-150
After the battery is fully charged, place the battery in a temperature-controlled chamber at 20℃±5℃:

3.1. Place the sample in a test chamber at 75℃±2℃ and keep it for 6h2. Then lower the temperature of the test chamber to -40℃±2℃ and keep it for 6h. The temperature conversion time should not exceed 30min.
3.3. Raise the temperature of the test chamber to 75℃±2℃ again. The temperature conversion time should not exceed 30min.
3.4. Repeat steps 1-3 for a total of 10 cycles.

4. Battery drop tester GAG-202
, according to GBT31241-2014, 7.5, freely falls from a drop height of 1m to a concrete floor
According to GBT31485-2015, 6.2.5, the drop module is filled to the point according to 6.1.3, and the positive and negative segments fall freely from a height of 1.5m to the concrete floor

5. Battery combustion test machine GAG-H213
is in accordance with GB31241-2014, 7.9. After the battery is fully charged, it is placed in the test chamber and heated with a flame. Heating is stopped when the following three conditions occur:

5.1, the battery explodes;
5.2, the battery burns completely;
5.3, the battery does not catch fire or explode for 30 minutes.

6. Battery cell heavy object impact tester GAG-H214

According to GB31241-2014, after the battery is fully charged, it is tested with a 7.7 weight impact

7. Servo extrusion testing machine GAG-H215-20T

According to GB31241-2014, 7.6 After the battery is fully charged, place the battery in two planes and squeeze it perpendicular to the plate direction, 13.0±0.78kn and pressure. Once the pressure reaches a larger value, stop squeezing. The battery cannot have an external short circuit during the test.
According to GBT31485-2015, 6.2.7 After the single battery is fully charged,
7.1, the extrusion plate form, the radius is 75mm semi-cylinder, the length of the semi-cylinder is greater than the size of the squeezed battery
7.2, squeezing speed: 5±1mm/s3, squeezing Chengdu: stop squeezing when the battery reaches 0V or the deformation reaches 30% or the squeezing force reaches 200kn

8. High and low temperature alternating test chamber GAG-E201-1000
is tested according to GBT38031-2020, 8.1.6 temperature cycle

9. Electromagnetic vibration table EDS-300
According to GB31241-2014, 7.3, fix the battery on the vibration table and perform the cell vibration test and sinusoidal vibration test

10. Mechanical shock test bench GAG-H215

According to GB31241-2014, after the battery is fully charged, fix it on the impact table according to 7.4 and carry out a half-sine pulse impact test. Within the first 3ms, the minimum average acceleration is 75g, the peak acceleration is 150g±25g, the pulse duration is 6ms±1ms, and the battery is subjected to three acceleration impact tests in each direction.
