Many electrical novices are not sure how to start debugging after designing electrical control cabinets and PLC programs. Or some people have caused PLC burnout and other problems due to inappropriate debugging methods. So how should the designed PLC system be debugged? The editor has sorted out 7 methods, and even "novices" can learn after reading them!

Power-on inspection

Before powering on, generally make sure that the PLC is in "STOP" working mode.

(1) Check whether the installation positions of each electrical component are correct.

(2) Use a multimeter or other measuring equipment to check the wiring between the control consoles (cabinets), and conduct on-site inspections to see if the wiring between input devices such as switches and operating switches, and output devices such as motors and solenoid valves and the control consoles (cabinets) is correct.

(3) Check each operating switch and check whether the switches and other electrical components are in their original positions.

(4) Check whether there are any obstructions on or near the controlled equipment (especially whether there are temporary lines) and whether there are any personnel performing construction work.

Single machine or partition debugging

For the convenience of debugging, a complex system can be artificially divided into multiple functional areas according to the control functions, control scale or process completed by the sub-control cabinet, and debugged in different areas.

Online general debugging

After the partition debugging is completed, analyze the relationship between each partition, and connect each partition to complete the online overall debugging.

Parameter setting

Parameter setting includes: parameters of display text, touch screen, inverter, secondary instrument, etc., and records.

Debugging of equipment functions

After eliminating the alarm after power-on, the equipment function should be debugged. First, the process flow of the equipment should be understood, and then manual no-load debugging should be performed. After the manual working action is correct, automatic no-load debugging can be performed.

After the no-load debugging is completed, the loaded debugging is carried out, and the working parameters such as the debugging current and voltage are recorded. During the debugging process, it is necessary not only to debug the functions of each part but also to simulate the set alarm to ensure that the real alarm can be realized when the fault conditions are met.

When the equipment needs to be heated and kept at a constant temperature, the heating and constant temperature curve should be recorded to ensure that the equipment functions properly.

Online debugging of the system

After completing the debugging of a single device, proceed with the online debugging of the front and back machines.

Continuous long-term operation

To test the stability of the equipment. After debugging, the equipment needs to be inspected.

The above are the 7 steps of PLC debugging. Once you learn them, even a novice can get started!
