LVDS (full name: Low-Voltage Differential Signaling), Chinese name: low voltage differential signal, is a differential signal technology with low power consumption, low bit error rate, low crosstalk and low radiation, which is widely used in serial high-speed data communication occasions. The core of low voltage differential signal (LVDS) technology is to use extremely low voltage swing to transmit data at high speed differentially, which can realize point-to-point or point-to-multipoint connection, and provide a reliable video interface for automotive applications. Many automobile manufacturers will use LVDS technology to realize high-speed image transmission in the car.
As we all know, the working environment of automobiles is relatively harsh. Therefore, when designing high-speed low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) interface systems, the correct circuit protection components should be selected to avoid transient threats and meet the safety and reliability of modern automobiles. It has been proven that on LVDS differential lines, the use of transient voltage suppression TVS/ESD diodes can protect the interface from transient events with fast rising edges, thereby achieving surge electrostatic protection. If proper protection is not taken, transient events can damage low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) transmitters and receivers. The data image transmission rate of the low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) interface is as high as 1.3Gbps, so it is critical to select TVS/ESD diodes with low junction capacitance line to line. In response to the transient surge electrostatic discharge problem of the automotive low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) interface, Dongwo Electronic Technology recommends the use of low-capacitance, automotive-grade TVS/ESD diodes DW05-4R2P-AT-S for protection. The design diagram of Dongwo's automotive LVDS interface transient surge electrostatic protection solution is shown below:
Solution Description
As can be seen from the Dongwo Automotive LVDS Interface Transient Surge Electrostatic Protection Solution, Dongwo Technology has selected two TVS/ESD diodes DW05-4R2P-AT-S to protect the interface from surge electrostatics. DW05-4R2P-AT-S is an electrostatic protection device designed specifically for protecting the high-speed differential lines of automotive LVDS interfaces. Dongwo DW05-4R2P-AT-S has passed AEC-Q101 certification, 4 channels, 5V operating voltage, 4A maximum peak pulse current, 12V low clamping voltage, 0.3pF low junction capacitance to ensure signal integrity, DFN-10L small package to save PCB space, and complies with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) ±15kV (air), ±15kV (contact) standards.
