Capstone CS5261 is a high-performance Type-C/DP1.4 to HDMI2.0b converter designed to connect USB Type-C end or DP1.4 source to HDMI2.0b conversion. CS5261 integrates a DP1.4 compatible receiver and an HDMI2.0b compatible transmitter. In addition, two CC controllers are included for CC communication to achieve DP Alt mode and power delivery (5V slow charging) functions, one for the upstream TYPEC port and the other for the downstream port.
The DP interface includes 2 main channels, auxiliary channel and HPD signal. The receiver supports a maximum data rate of 5.4Gbps (HBR2) per lane. The DP receiver contains a content protection scheme with HDCP1.4 embedded key for secure transmission of digital audio and video content.
The HDMI interface includes 4 TMD clock/data pairs, DDC and HPD signals. The HDMI transmitter is capable of supporting data rates up to 3Gpbs, sufficient to handle video resolutions up to FHD 1080p 120Hz and UHD 4k 30Hz formats. The HDMI transmitter contains an HDCP engine that supports HDCP1.4. By including HDCP, the CS5261 allows for secure transmission of protected content. Embedded keys provide the highest level of HDCP key security.
