RTD2166 Functional Overview
RTD2166 is a DisplayPort to VGA converter with a relatively high cost. In 2019, Capstone launched CS5212, which is a direct pin-to-pin compatible replacement for RTD2166. It can use the original RTD2166 small board frame and save 20 peripheral small materials, which is more cost-optimized. It has been adopted by a large number of well-known customers.
The CS5212 combines a DisplayPort input interface with an analog RGB DAC output interface. The embedded MCU is based on the industry standard 8051 core and is suitable for multiple market segments and display applications such as notebooks, motherboards, desktops, adapters, converters and dongles.

Use CS5212 to directly pin to pin on the RTD2166 small board, which can save up to 16 peripheral components NC. As shown below:

Maximum resolution up to 1920x1200x60 (RB, reduced blanking) with 24-bit color depth, 1920x1440x60 (RB, reduced blanking), or 2048x152x60 (RB, reduced blanking) with 24-bit color depth, 2048x1536x60 (RB, reduced blanking) with 18-bit color depth.
