In daily life, many electronic products rely on electricity to work, and the storage form of electricity is provided by batteries. For example, TV remote controls, air conditioner remote controls, flashlights, electronic toys, weight scales, etc., all rely on batteries to work. When installing batteries, we will find that the location of the battery installation and the two ends of the battery are different. One end of the battery is convex and has a "+" sign on the side, which represents the positive pole of the battery. The other end is a flat side with a "-" sign, which represents the negative pole of the battery. The battery compartment where the electronic product is installed is called the battery compartment. When installing the battery, there will also be a prompt in the battery compartment to facilitate the correct installation of the battery. The positive and negative poles of the battery must be installed correctly, otherwise it will cause the battery to over-discharge, heat up and explode, and it will also cause the power supply equipment to burn.
In addition to batteries, supercapacitors are also power sources that can store electrical energy. Supercapacitors are advanced, environmentally friendly energy storage devices that are between traditional capacitors and energy storage batteries. They use a double-layer structure composed of activated carbon porous electrodes and electrolytes to obtain ultra-large capacity and energy storage. They not only have the discharge power of traditional capacitors, but also have the charge storage capacity of chemical batteries.

Supercapacitors come in a variety of shapes, and are divided into button-type supercapacitors, lead-type supercapacitors, horn-type supercapacitors, bolt-type supercapacitors, etc. Supercapacitors generally have positive and negative electrodes. How do you distinguish between supercapacitor electrodes of different shapes?
Button-type supercapacitor: It is divided into V-type, H-type and C-type due to the different pin positions. The positive pole of V-type and H-type supercapacitors is on the small side (upper cover), and the large side is the negative pole; while the pin length of C-type supercapacitors is different, the long pin is the positive pole, and the short pin is the negative pole.
Lead-type supercapacitor: The positive and negative poles are distinguished according to the length of the lead, the long lead is the positive pole, and the short lead is the negative pole.
Horn-type supercapacitor: The terminal with patterns is the negative pole, and the one without patterns is the positive pole.
Bolt-type supercapacitor: Generally, the shell is the positive pole and the upper cover is the negative pole.

When installing a supercapacitor, the positive and negative poles must not be connected incorrectly. Although capacitors with positive and negative poles can store energy if connected in reverse, long-term use will damage the capacitor and electronic equipment, and in serious cases, an explosion may occur. The correct installation of the positive and negative poles is to ensure that the supercapacitor and electronic equipment can be used for a long time and save unnecessary maintenance costs.
