Under normal circumstances, the motor is started directly, but sometimes it needs to be delayed. What is the circuit of delayed start? Let's take a look.

Delayed start type 1

This is the delayed start circuit. It takes a while for the motor to start after the start button is pressed.

Press the start button

Press the start button, the small intermediate relay will self-lock to form a self-locking circuit, and the time relay will be energized to start timing. Here I set it to 10 seconds. Because the contactor passes the normally open state of the time relay, the contactor will not be attracted and the motor will not run.

Time relay to time

When the time of the time relay is reached, the normally open contact will close, the contactor will be energized and the motor will run. Because the time relay remains energized at this time, the normally open contact will remain closed.

Press the stop button

When you need to stop, press the stop button, the relay is de-energized, all control circuits are de-energized, and the motor stops running.

In this circuit, the time relay is always powered. Some friends may say that this is not good. Next, let's look at the second connection method.

This is the second circuit of delayed start. When the start button is pressed, the time relay is energized. The situation at this time is similar to the previous one.

Time relay to time

When the time relay reaches the time, the contactor is energized and the motor runs. At this time, the normally closed contact of the contactor is disconnected, the time relay loses power, and the contactor self-locks through its normally open contact and keeps running.

When the stop button is pressed, the circuit is the same as above.
