What should we pay attention to during routine maintenance of automotive electronic controllers?

1. Anti-moisture: Since the electronic controller can easily be damaged or its printed circuit boards and components damaged by moisture, when cleaning and flushing the car, special attention should be paid to prevent water from entering the ECU. In humid seasons, care should be taken to prevent moisture from entering the ECU to avoid adverse effects.

2. Anti-power off: When the power of the electronic controller is cut off, some information stored in the ECU memory will be automatically lost. When the power of the ECU is reconnected, if the ECU and the control element are not matched, the ECU will lose control of the actuator, making the car unable to operate normally.

3. Anti-static Nowadays, most clothes are made of synthetic materials, which are very easy to generate static electricity. Since the electronic components on the ECU are very sensitive to static electricity, it is easy to burn them out when the static electricity carried by the human body reaches a certain level. Therefore, when performing maintenance and repair work on the ECU, you must tie a metal wire on your wrist, and the other end is connected to the body or frame for grounding (earthing), which can lead to the static electricity generated by the human body and avoid damage to the ECU.

4. Anti-strong vibration Strong vibration can easily cause the circuits and electronic components in the electronic controller to malfunction or be damaged. Therefore, during the removal or installation of the ECU, knocking or rough operation is prohibited. The ECU should be handled with care during movement or transportation to prevent it from falling off.

5. The fault diagnosis system of the anti-loss electronic controller stores various data. The fault diagnosis device of the ECU indicates the driver with a warning light. If the warning light is on, it means that the ECU has detected an engine fault or abnormality. The fault of the electronic fuel injection device can be determined by comparing the flashing times of the warning light and the output fault waveform with the code in the manual. However, before the fault is determined, the battery grounding wire cannot be removed, otherwise, the memory diagnostic data of the ECU will disappear automatically. Therefore, it is necessary to study and process the diagnostic data before removing the wire, and then remove the wire for other inspections to prevent data information loss.

6. Prevent poor contact. Common faults of electronic controllers are often caused by poor wire contact, so regular inspections are required to ensure the cleanliness and contact reliability of each wire plug, terminal, and connector.

"Six Prohibitions" for the Use of Automotive Electronic Controllers

1. It is forbidden to connect the battery polarity incorrectly. When checking, the battery grounding wire should be removed and it is best to mark it, especially for batteries of imported cars, to avoid mistakes during reassembly and damage to its electronic components, such as transistors.

2. It is forbidden to start the engine with a starting power supply without connecting the battery. This is a common practice for general cars when the battery is seriously low on power. However, when an electronically controlled car uses a starting power supply to start the engine directly without connecting the battery, the voltage of the starting power supply will be directly "nakedly" added to both ends of the ECU, which can easily burn out the ECU due to overvoltage, causing great losses.

3. It is prohibited to use high-power (10W or more) radio transmitting equipment (such as wireless vehicle-mounted stations). Even if you use low-power radio equipment or audio antennas, you should keep them away from the ECU of the electric vehicle device to avoid interfering with the ECU, thereby weakening or affecting the normal working performance of the ECU.

4. It is prohibited to use substitute electric fuel pumps at will because the oil outlet pressure of the fuel pump of an electronically controlled vehicle is much higher than that of the electric fuel pump of a general fuel supply system. Therefore, the original fuel pump should be replaced after damage, otherwise it cannot be used normally.

5. Prohibit entering the temperature zone. The high temperature operation area will damage or destroy the transistor components of the electronic controller, which will affect the working stability of the ECU. In addition, since the circuits of the ECU circuit board are dense and the line spacing is very close, high temperature will damage the integrated module.

6. Do not disassemble the ECU at will. As the structure of the electronic controller is very complex and the circuit is dense, it is very difficult to check and quickly eliminate the fault. Once the ECU fails, do not dismantle it at will. Be sure to ask professionals to detect and judge before maintenance to avoid unnecessary economic losses. Generally speaking, the reliability of the electronic controller ECU is very high and it is not easy to fail. Even if a failure occurs, it is difficult for ordinary people to repair it.

What do the high and low level signals of the ECU mean?
The so-called level refers to the logarithm of the ratio of two powers or voltages. Sometimes it can also be used to express the logarithm of the ratio of two currents. The unit of level is decibel, dB. Commonly used levels are power levels and voltage levels, which can be divided into absolute levels and
