The storage capacity requirements of a PLC depend on the size and complexity of the application. Smaller applications may only require a few thousand words of storage, while more complex applications may require hundreds of thousands of words of storage. In addition, if the application needs to store historical data or collect data, a larger storage capacity is required. Therefore, when selecting a PLC, the appropriate storage capacity should be selected based on the actual application requirements.

The most common PLC models are as follows:

1. Selection based on functions: PLCs have different functions, and you can choose a PLC with specific functions according to your needs, such as: control, monitoring, calculation or communication.

2. Selection based on scalability: Some PLCs can be equipped with plug-ins or expansion boards to meet specific needs. Therefore, you can choose a PLC with strong scalability to add more functions as needs change in the future.

3. Application-based selection: Different applications require different types of PLCs. For example, industries such as power, logistics, and automated factories require specific PLCs, so such factors must be considered when selecting a PLC.

4. Selection based on communication protocol: Communication is an essential part of modern industry. Therefore, when choosing a PLC, its communication protocol must also be considered, for example, Ethernet, CAN bus, MODBUS, PROFINET, etc.

5. Supplier-based selection: Choose a PLC that suits you based on the reliability, service quality, price and other factors of the PLC supplier.

It is important to note that there are many factors to consider when choosing a PLC, including cost, ease of use, reliability, maintenance, programmability, etc.

The installation of PLC generally requires the following steps:

1. Determine the PLC installation location, considering factors such as power supply, safety, signal transmission, and maintenance.

2. Install the control cabinet and install the PLC in the control cabinet.

3. Connect the PLC with other devices, including power lines, input signal lines, output signal lines, etc.

4. Install PLC program and configuration information.

5. Test whether the PLC operates normally and perform necessary debugging.

It should be noted that the installation of PLC should be carried out by professional electrical engineers or technicians to ensure safety and reliability. Relevant safety regulations should also be followed during the installation process to prevent electrical accidents.
