Computer enthusiasts all know that LCD monitors have the advantages of high brightness and no radiation compared to flat-panel monitors, but when playing computer games, the image will move slowly and high-speed images will have "tailing". In contrast, LCD TVs will not have such a phenomenon.

What is the difference between an LCD monitor that can watch TV and an LCD TV?

Generally, TV signals are composed of sound, brightness and color. Only after these three sets of numbers are processed inside the TV can we enjoy realistic pictures and sounds. Even if LCD panels with similar performance are used, there will be differences in their respective signal optimization. The most obvious difference is that LCD TVs will invest more in optimization solutions for imaging, because everyone has this feeling. When watching TV on an LCD monitor, because of the small area, we have to watch it at a distance of less than one meter or even less than half a meter. In that case, even the slightest unclearness of the image will cause a visual perception of "image blur", so to obtain a good imaging effect, we have to work hard on imaging processing.

The reason why LCD TV can eliminate the sluggish phenomenon is that it uses powerful and larger digital processing circuits inside. For example, the "Digital New Brain" LCD chip recently launched by color TV manufacturers for LCD TVs has the technical advantages of full digital multiple advanced processing, which has changed the original TV signal processing mode and integrated the YC separation circuit and color decoding circuit into a large integrated circuit for full digital signal transmission processing, which not only reduces sound noise, but also truly restores the original appearance of the image.

People who like to watch movies on DVD may have encountered this problem. The DVD format is different from the TV format, which sometimes produces chrominance data noise. For this, color TV manufacturers have long been prepared. DVD full digital tracking noise reduction technology can remove the noise and spots generated by the format image of the DVD disc during the compression process, improve the image clarity of the DVD movie, and at the same time correct the color information that cannot be corrected in the DVD player, so that the color information restoration is more accurate and the image quality of the DVD movie is improved. At the same time, the three-dimensional dynamic surround sound can make the sound range wider.

In addition, in terms of image color, LCD TVs also use a variety of "filters" to optimize TV signals, which are also used on ordinary TVs. All of these are generally not used on ordinary LCD monitors, which is a big difference between the imaging effect of LCD monitors and LCD TVs.

Early LCDs had inherent limitations, such as viewing angle, response time, and manufacturing cost. In fact, among the technical performance indicators of LCD TVs, the ones that have the greatest impact on consumers' visual experience are brightness, contrast, resolution, and viewing angle, and brightness is an important indicator for judging the picture quality of LCD TVs.
