Types of Steam Compressors
1. Single-stage high-speed centrifugal blower
This type of steam compressor is a common steam compressor on the market. It can have a large air volume and pressure and can meet the needs of many working conditions. The single-stage high-speed centrifugal blower adopts the three-dimensional flow theory design. The overall structure of the blower is compact and the technology is relatively mature.
2. Roots steam compressor
There are also many Roots steam compressors on the market, and they mainly target the market with a processing capacity of less than 5t/h. The price of Roots steam compressors is more cost-effective than that of single-stage high-speed centrifugal blowers. If the processing capacity is small, a Roots steam compressor can be used.
3. Screw steam compressor
The screw steam compressor is a positive displacement rotary compressor with a high compression ratio and a temperature rise of up to 50 degrees Celsius. It can operate normally under high temperature conditions. The processing capacity of the screw steam compressor is smaller than the previous two. And the overall dynamic balance performance and vibration amplitude are slightly inferior to the Roots steam compressor and centrifugal steam compressor.
4. Reciprocating steam compressor
The main feature of a reciprocating steam compressor is that it can cope with high-pressure or ultra-high-pressure working environments. Therefore, if our steam compression requires very high pressure, a reciprocating steam compressor can be used.
Among steam compressors, the above four are common compression equipment, among which Roots and centrifugal steam compressors are more common.
Steam compressor selection
How to select a steam compressor? This is a very troublesome problem. Since steam compressors are currently in the development stage in the market, there is not much professional knowledge. Today, Huadong Fan will explain to you how to select a steam compressor based on our past experience!
When selecting a steam compressor, we need to prepare the following parameters so that we can basically make the selection.
1. Steam processing capacity
There are two main types of MVR steam compressors on the market, one is Roots steam compressor, the other is single-stage high-speed centrifugal steam compressor. These two types are widely used in the market. The single-stage high-speed centrifugal steam compressor has a larger processing capacity, while the Roots steam compressor has a smaller processing capacity. Therefore, the processing capacity of the steam compressor is relatively speaking also a selection criterion.
2. Temperature rise value
The temperature rise value is also a very important selection parameter. Generally, the temperature rise of a Roots blower is about 20°C. If the temperature rise exceeds this value, a single-stage high-speed centrifugal steam compressor is required.
3. Inlet and outlet pressure difference
The inlet and outlet pressure difference is also an important selection parameter. The inlet and outlet pressure difference of Roots steam compressor is between 65-98kpa, and the pressure difference range of single-stage high-speed is wider.
4. Intake air temperature
Roots steam compressors have certain requirements for the inlet air temperature, generally the inlet air temperature is 80-85℃, and the inlet air temperature of single-stage high-speed centrifugal blowers is more extensive.
5. Compressor material
There are many kinds of materials for steam compressors, some are nickel-chromium plated, some are made of 304 stainless steel, and some are made of 306 stainless steel. Not knowing the material has no effect on the basic selection, but it has a greater impact on the price.
When selecting a steam compressor, you can basically consider the following points. Since steam compressors are expensive, you must conduct a careful inspection when purchasing them.
