Beijing, China - August 19, 2021 - BlackBerry has always made it a top priority to ensure the functionality and network security of its customers and the public. On August 17, BlackBerry issued a notice announcing that several real-time operating systems from different companies, including the old QNX operating system, have integer overflow issues.


BlackBerry has been notified of the issue and confirmed that this issue does not affect the latest and most recent versions of the QNX RTOS except for versions 2012 and earlier.


BlackBerry has notified all potentially affected customers and has released a software patch to resolve the issue. In addition, we are providing 24/7 support to customers. To date, no customers have indicated that they have been affected by this issue.


Ensuring software security is of paramount importance to BlackBerry, and the company takes a serious and responsible approach to ensuring that it fulfills its key role in the embedded software supply chain.
