From June 21st to 27th, the first RISC-V China Summit will be held at ShanghaiTech University. This summit aims to provide a platform for communication, cooperation and innovation for the industry and academia, comprehensively promote the development of RISC-V in China and around the world; promote innovative technology products in the RISC-V industry; promote RISC-V research and teaching, and help cultivate industry talents. Shanghai Zhiwei Robotics and Pengfeng Technology will attend the main meeting from June 22nd to 24th to help the development of the RISC-V Chinese community.
Open source is a trend and a technological trend. While open source software is sweeping the world, open source hardware is also developing steadily. RISC-V, an open source instruction set architecture (ISA) based on the Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC) principle, is currently the hottest open source hardware project.
As a world-leading high-tech enterprise engaged in open source hardware, Shanghai DFRobot has been committed to providing more convenient products to the society and has always paid attention to the growth and development of RISC-V. Based on years of technology accumulation and market recognition, Shanghai DFRobot and PerfXLab have established an ecological cooperation relationship to jointly promote the development of RISC-V ecology.
Pengfeng Technology (PerfXLab) has many years of practice and accumulation in the field of computing power basic software. It has been quietly working on providing computing power basic software for the new generation of computing technology with the most complete high-performance computing library optimization capabilities. Mainly for the fields of HPC, AI, and RISC-V. Pengfeng Technology has been committed to mobilizing community power to jointly build RISC-V open source software projects. Pengfeng Technology has launched the RISC-V Open SDK based on the world's first RISC-V 64-bit open source hardware "RVBoards-Nezha", which supports Debian and LXDE desktop systems, RVCL, ncnn computing power basic software, and gcc, python, rust local compilation. Pengfeng Technology (PerfXLab) will continue to be committed to building RISC-V computing power basic software and establishing an open source and open demonstration ecosystem.
Shanghai DFRobot is committed to the open ecosystem of open source hardware, and will officially release the RISC-V Beginner D1 Starter Kit at the RISC-V China Summit. This kit is jointly created by DFRobot and RVBoards as a sensor kit designed for beginners who are new to "RVBoards-Nezha". The kit includes a Nezha-specific I/O expansion board, 8 commonly used signal input sensors of different types, 5 actuators, 1 OLED display and 1 USB data cable. Combined with a series of easy-to-understand and vivid tutorials carefully written by DFRobot, even beginners can easily learn RISC-V programming.
The I/O expansion board designed for the Nezha board in the kit, such as the powerful Qiankun Circle, is compatible with more than hundreds of Gravity series sensors and actuators. The wiring is simple and no soldering is required. One expansion board combined with different sensors and actuators can create a variety of scientific and technological projects.
In order to further lower the learning threshold, the RISC-V D1 Starter Kit software provides two super-simple programming tools: pinpong library and Mind+ programming software. The pinpong library is a driver library that integrates hundreds of open source hardware sensors. With the help of the pinpong library, makers and developers can use Python code to directly control hundreds of open source hardware; Mind+ is a programming software independently developed by DFRobot designed for youth education. It supports Python programming by dragging blocks, which greatly reduces the difficulty of learning programming.
The combination of pinpong library and Mind+ greatly reduces the threshold for learning and using RISC-C programming, making it easier for all kinds of people to control a variety of RISC-V peripherals.
Most importantly, the carefully selected equipment in this kit covers different learning chapters. As the learning process continues to deepen, the difficulty and richness of the projects continue to increase. The entire kit tutorial helps beginners easily master RISC-V peripheral drivers.
The ecological cooperation between Shanghai Zhiwei Robotics and Pengfeng Technology is to take advantage of each other's strengths and develop in an integrated manner. We believe that through the in-depth cooperation between the two parties, it will definitely bring a ray of light to the development of RISC-V in the Chinese community and inject new vitality into the industry and the community! Regarding the construction of the RISC-V ecosystem, DFRobot will continue to maintain an attitude of active embrace and open cooperation to give feedback to the open source community.
