SABIC partners for sustainable growth and collaborative efforts for an inclusive future

The 10th China International Petrochemical Conference (CPCIC) was successfully held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. During the conference, the international diversified chemical company Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), led by Li Lei, Vice President and President of North Asia, fully participated in many important sessions of the conference, including the Circular Economy Forum, Mayors Forum, Safety Summit, CEO Roundtable and "Glorious 10th Anniversary", reaffirming SABIC's firm commitment to join hands with different links of the industrial chain and gather forces from all walks of life to help China achieve sustainable growth and an inclusive future.

　　This year marks the 10th anniversary of the China International Petrochemical Conference. The three-day conference, with the theme of "Expanding Opening-up and Focusing on High-Quality Development", once again brought together the suggestions and wisdom of representatives from all links of the industrial chain, including governments, enterprises, academic institutions and international organizations. As a long-term partner of the conference, SABIC participated in this annual industry event that has entered a new stage of development in various forms and around multiple topics.

　　The conference kicked off with a sub-forum - "Circular Economy Forum". With the theme of "Opening a New Journey of Plastic Closed Loop", this forum received full strategic support from SABIC. At the meeting, Li Lei first delivered an opening speech on behalf of SABIC, sharing a series of insights and practices of SABIC in promoting the development of circular economy. Subsequently, Dr. Si Ruide, Senior Manager of Corporate Sustainability Strategy Department of SABIC Asia Pacific, shared a keynote speech entitled "Chemical Recycling Leads Innovative Solutions to Waste Plastics Problems", and Zeng Yong, Director of Global Market Development and Technical Support Department of SABIC Petrochemical Strategic Division, participated in the roundtable discussion with the theme of "Joint Action of the Whole Industry Chain" as a special guest, sharing SABIC's latest technologies and how the company actively promotes upstream and downstream cooperation in the industry chain to further create innovative practices of circular economy.

　　At the parallel forum “Mayor Forum” held that afternoon, Li Lei once again delivered a keynote speech on behalf of SABIC - “Working together for sustainable growth and achieving an inclusive future”, further elaborating on how SABIC is working together with all parties to actively gather the broadest social forces to promote the development of the chemical industry.

　　Li Lei said: “We are honored to have the opportunity to participate in this conference so deeply and to demonstrate SABIC’s empowerment for China’s sustainable growth and inclusive future. Over the years, we have been actively working with the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) to explore new opportunities and new models of development with partners from all walks of life. Now, facing the new global economic situation and industry development trends, on key issues such as sustainability and inclusiveness, we look forward to continuing to use the platform advantages of the Federation to find and create newer and more effective solutions.”

　　In addition to the above schedule, Li Lei, as a senior representative of the company, was also invited to attend the key link of the conference - CEO closed-door roundtable. In addition, Wang Yanfang, senior manager of Asia Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) of SABIC Corporate Manufacturing Department, also gave a keynote speech at the parallel forum of the conference - "The 3rd International Chemical Safety Summit: Transportation and Logistics Safety" with the theme of "Establishing an EHSS management system is the cornerstone of sustainable growth of enterprises".

　　This year marks the 10th anniversary of the conference. At the "Glorious 10th Anniversary" celebration held on the evening of the 18th, SABIC won the "Outstanding Contribution Award" issued by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF), and Li Lei won the individual "Outstanding Contribution Award". SABIC's unremitting efforts to promote China's sustainable and inclusive development have been highly recognized by the Federation.

　　With more than 30 years of deep cultivation in the Chinese market, SABIC has always insisted on expanding its investment in China, fully helping China's petrochemical industry and even the national economy to achieve higher-quality development. At present, SABIC has built factories in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing, and its business covers 14 cities across the country. The orderly advancement of multiple large-scale cooperation projects is also strongly supporting the sustainable growth of the business. At the same time, SABIC has also actively fulfilled its corporate social responsibility and continued to carry out a series of corporate social responsibility activities including "Lighting up the Future", "Giving Back to Campus" and "Zero Waste for the World", to achieve a more inclusive future through collaboration.
