Amap and Alibaba Cloud have jointly launched the "Smart Highway Solution". In the coming year, the solution will be implemented in the highway networks of 10 provinces and cities in China, with the goal of reducing holiday traffic congestion and secondary accident rates on the cooperating highways by 20%.
At present, there are already many smart transportation solutions for urban roads, but for highways, there are still safety hazards and congestion caused by uneven road network utilization, insufficient data value mining, lack of collaborative management platforms, and insufficient efficiency in accident prevention and handling.
Therefore, by connecting the existing highway network data information through a cloud platform and effectively coordinating traffic participants, the problems encountered in high-speed traffic can be effectively solved.
The application capabilities of Amap's smart highway solution cover highway operation monitoring, abnormal event detection and handling, future road condition prediction, public travel guidance, travel safety management and other aspects.
The core function of the solution is automatic detection of traffic incidents. Based on the image recognition capability of Alibaba Cloud's artificial intelligence, this function can quickly identify abnormal congestion, accidents and other event information scanned by highway cameras, and timely analyze, classify and transmit it to the highway management system and the AutoNavi Map APP, thereby replacing traditional manual inspections.
The real-life road condition and real-scene restoration function integrates the real-time road conditions of the Internet map itself and the real road conditions scanned by high-speed cameras to achieve accurate traffic condition display; when identifying and analyzing the road conditions transmitted by high-speed cameras, if abnormal congestion is found, the real-life picture will be automatically captured and applied to the Gaode map, making the road congestion situation "clear at a glance".
The future traffic prediction function can predict the traffic congestion during holidays and the traffic conditions in the next half hour. Managers can use the authoritative route recommendation function to inform users passing by how to change their routes in advance through Amap, thereby alleviating traffic congestion.
The traffic safety CT function, based on the big data capabilities of Amap's three emergencies and one speed (sudden braking, sudden acceleration, sharp turns, and speeding), can analyze and explore high-risk points for highway accidents, and provide data support for highway managers to take preventive measures.
The solution also comes with a road safety IoT product - smart cones, which can achieve accurate and timely dynamic event collection, release, analysis, and management without manual input and intervention. After the cone is placed, its warning information will be displayed on the AutoNavi Map App in a timely manner to remind the following vehicles.
The solution won the "New Technology Award of the Leading Scientific and Technological Achievement Award" at the 2019 China International Big Data Industry Expo (BIBEXPO) held at the end of May this year.
The smart bus station products created by AutoNavi will be launched in Nanjing, Harbin and other cities in the future.
