Huawei has officially registered the trademark of Hongmeng system, and according to Yu Chengdong's previous statement, Huawei's system will be released as early as this fall, and at the latest next spring. So, let's discuss today - can Huawei's Hongmeng system really work? Today, the author also saw a very interesting point of view, and also believed that these five factors will be the key to Huawei's success in making the system! In other words, if Huawei's Hongmeng system wants to succeed, these conditions are indispensable!

First, to develop an OS, we must stand on the shoulders of giants instead of tightening the screws from scratch. The misunderstanding that independence means starting from scratch must be broken. As we all know, Huawei has previously stated that its Hongmeng system will be compatible with the Android system and can also be applied to the Web and applications. However, based on the current situation, I believe that Huawei's Hongmeng system should be an operating system based on the Linux kernel like the Android system, rather than being completely different from the Android system. After all, Google has been developing the Android system for too long, and it is obviously a bit unrealistic for Huawei to develop the system from scratch!

Second, the operating system is software, but it needs to be both hardware and software. Technically, many underlying drivers of the OS are related to hardware, which determines that a successful OS must be closely coordinated with chips and terminal hardware. As we all know, the Hongmeng system aims to achieve the interconnection of mobile phones, tablets, wearable devices, smart hardware, etc. on a single platform, so hardware support must be achieved. The reason why Google's Android system is powerful is that there is enough hardware to support it. Therefore, if Huawei wants to make its own system, more hardware must use this system, and at the same time, better adaption work can be done to continue to grow.

Third, a true OS must be market-oriented, subject to market testing, and originate from the market and be used in the market. Only companies that truly fight hard in the market can produce a truly competitive OS, and they cannot be projects in an ivory tower. In other words, although Huawei's Hongmeng system may have shortcomings compared to Google Android or Apple iOS, it should be compared with products on the market, because even if you think Huawei has been developing the system for too short a time and such a comparison is a bit unfair, your competitors will not sympathize with you. If it is easy to use, it is easy to use, and if it is too difficult to use, consumers cannot be forced to pay for it.

Fourth, it is difficult to develop a competitive OS, and it is even more difficult to operate an ecosystem, but what is more important is how to attract more friendly companies and developers to join. We believe that Huawei has the ability to lead the way, and we also believe that Huawei can gradually open up the situation for domestic mobile phone systems after the Hongmeng system. However, it is absolutely difficult for Huawei to compete with Google's Android and Apple's iOS on its own. What Huawei needs more is to attract friendly companies such as Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo to join the camp of opening up domestic systems, or use the "Ark Compiler" to attract more developers to join the research and development and maintenance of the Hongmeng system, which can ensure that Huawei can establish an ecosystem.

Fifth, OS development requires iterative optimization, and operating an ecosystem is not a one-day job. It requires long-term investment, and Huawei's R&D investment needs to be continuous. As we all know, Huawei has been talking about how much it has invested in R&D in recent years, and it even accounts for 10% or even 15% of its overall revenue. However, it should be noted that this actually covers Huawei's R&D expenses including its communications business. As we all know, Huawei still has a lot to do in the development of Hongmeng system. If it wants to achieve the same success as Google's Android system, it needs to invest more in open source research.

After Google announced the suspension of cooperation with Huawei in some businesses, we all know that this will have a certain impact on Huawei's sales in overseas markets. However, this is the worst moment for Huawei, but also the best moment. It is the right time to open Hongmeng and create a new world. We hope Huawei can make a better system! What do you think are the conditions for the success of Hongmeng system?
