After four years, the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, which has been eagerly awaited by all sectors of society, is held in Beijing again. The 2024 (18th) Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the 2024 Beijing Auto Show) will be held at the Shunyi Pavilion of the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing from April 25 to May 4, 2024. The theme of this Beijing Auto Show is "New Era, New Cars", which will showcase the new achievements of the global automotive industry in scientific and technological innovation, reflect the development direction driven by technological innovation and the achievements of independent innovation of my country's automotive industry, and help the sustainable and high-quality development of the automotive industry.
The booming development of new energy vehicles has promoted the rapid evolution and breakthrough of China's intelligent driving technology. It can be seen that Chinese car manufacturers, Tier 1 and algorithm providers, and chip manufacturers have made rapid progress in technology and foresight, and have reached a higher level in terms of overall level. In response to the rapid development trend of intelligent driving technology, Ambarella has launched a full range of solutions for ADAS / autonomous driving .
The CV3 exhibited by Ambarella is a high-computing AI domain control chip with a 5nm automotive process . The CV3 series has several chips with different computing powers for customers to choose from, including CV3-AD635, CV3-AD655 and CV3-AD685. In this series, the CV3 single chip can support the realization of high-speed map-free NOA, urban point-to-point memory driving, urban NOA, and higher-level L3-L4 autonomous driving. Following its launch in January this year, CV3 made its public debut at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show.
Ambarella's CV3 series of high-computing domain control chips are compatible with all types of deep learning algorithms. They can run various neural network algorithms efficiently with the CVflow engine , with low CPU and memory bandwidth usage. The CV3 series supports real-time video acquisition, desensitization, encoding, and transmission from cameras to achieve data loopback. All CV3 series products support functional safety and reach ASIL-B level, of which the functional safety island can reach ASIL-D level.
Ambarella has designed the CV3 series chips as a platform to meet the differentiated needs of customers for products with different positioning in terms of computing power and solutions. It can provide a complete series of intelligent driving domain control solutions, from "mapless" highway NOA (CV3-AD635) to "mapless" urban NOA (CV3-AD655), and finally to "mapless" L3 and higher-level autonomous driving solutions (CV3-AD685).
CV3-AD685 can cover L3 and higher-level autonomous driving solutions. It can support multi-modal large language models + end-to-end autonomous driving with a single chip. CV3-AD685 can process 24 x cameras + 5 x millimeter-wave radars + Aoku central domain control radar + 3 x lidars (optional) in real time. At the algorithm application level , CV3-AD685 can support BEV+Transformer+front fusion+regulatory control without the need for high-precision maps.
CV3-AD655 can cover the NOA + AVP solution in urban areas. It can process 12 x cameras + 5 x millimeter-wave radars + 3 x lidars (optional) in real time. At the algorithm application level, CV3-AD655 can support BEV + Transformer + Occupancy + front fusion without the need for high-precision maps and high-precision positioning. The power consumption of the CV3-AD655 chip is less than 30 watts.
CV3-AD635 can cover high-speed NOA + memory driving + HPA solutions. It can process 7 x cameras + 5 x millimeter-wave radars in real time, and can run BEV + Transformer + front fusion without high-precision maps and high-precision positioning. The CV3-AD635 chip has ultra- low power consumption , no fan required, and can be passively cooled.
This time, Ambarella also brought a 360-degree demonstration of the central domain control 4D imaging radar based on CV3 and a real car display. The 5R radar generates a dense point cloud of millions per second, similar to the imaging effect of high-line laser radar. The single-chip imaging radar can achieve the index of 4-cascade radar. The horizontal and vertical angular resolutions of the front radar are within 1 degree. The 4D radar raw data and the camera raw data can be deeply fused, supporting radar sensing for L2+ to L4 autonomous driving.
The extremely cost-effective CV72AQ with all-in-one driving and parking function, which was released for the Chinese market during the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, has made good market progress. This Beijing Auto Show not only exhibits mass-produced forward ADAS products based on CV72, but also exhibits all-in-one driving and parking products of partners.
Generative AI is undoubtedly the biggest hot spot in the market. Ambarella brought this year's new N1 series of generative AI chips and the multimodal large model inference demonstration on the earlier launched CV72 chip. N1 supports a single chip to achieve 1 to 34 billion parameters of multimodal large model inference, and power consumption is less than 50 watts; CV72 can provide a more complete development kit Cooper Mini, which can achieve 3 billion parameters of multimodal large model inference, and power consumption is less than 6 watts.
At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, in addition to fully demonstrating its chips, core technologies and comprehensive solutions for ADAS and autonomous driving, Ambarella also displayed mass-produced products based on the 10nm CV2 series in its ecological display area, including forward-looking all-in-one machines, CMS products and in-cabin intelligent sensing products.
