Shanghai, April 22, 2024 - As a professional and sustainable material solutions and service provider, Avant announced the launch of OnColor™ nylon series of stable and durable orange solutions, which are designed to improve the orange color stability of warning orange polymers used in high-voltage connectors for electric vehicles (EVs) . Avant will highlight these solutions at the booth of the 2024 China International Rubber and Plastics Exhibition, which opens tomorrow.
After heat aging tests up to 130°C for 1,000 hours, products using the OnColor Nylon series stable and durable orange formula showed better long-term anti-fading properties than similar orange solutions, while also meeting customer requirements for no migration and low volatility of color powders. In addition, at 85°C and 85% relative humidity, the color change of samples exposed to high humidity for seven days was very small, indicating that these colorants can be used in high humidity environments. Comparative test results of the OnColor Nylon series stable and durable orange solution without and with the PA66-GF/FR system showed that the formula had no effect on flame retardancy and had extremely limited negative impact on basic mechanical properties (such as flexural strength and impact strength).

These new orange masterbatches are specially designed to prevent fading and maintain the original color to the greatest extent even after long-term exposure to high temperatures."
Avant can provide a proven orange solution that complies with a variety of color cards such as RAL, Pantone and JPMA. It is suitable for processes such as granulation, injection molding and extrusion. It has excellent processability and can maintain the original color to a large extent. At the same time, it has no obvious effect on flame retardancy, electrical properties or mechanical properties, meeting the rapidly growing needs of the electric vehicle market. In addition, Avant can also provide other functions according to customer requirements, such as laser marking and customized colorants for other electric vehicle applications.
The 2024 China International Rubber and Plastics Exhibition will be held at the Shanghai Hongqiao National Convention and Exhibition Center from April 23 to 26.
