On Sunday evening local time, Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted on the X platform that Tesla’s video generation technology is the best in the world, even surpassing OpenAI’s Sora.
The day before, Musk hinted that Tesla had mastered video generation technology similar to OpenAI as early as a year ago.
One X user posted: "What does OpenAI's Sora have to do with Tesla's FSD v12? Turns out there are a lot! OpenAI's bombshell confirms Tesla's theory!"
Musk responded: "Tesla has been able to generate real-world videos with accurate physics for about a year. It's not particularly interesting because all the training data comes from cars, so it looks just like Tesla videos , albeit a dynamically generated (rather than memorized) world.”
Musk later shared several self-driving videos produced by Tesla a year ago that simulated real-life scenarios, and said in response to a user's comment: "What Tesla video generation surpasses OpenAI is that it predicts Extremely accurate physics scenes. This is crucial for autonomous driving.”
Another X user posted: "Tesla should make a video game. You get points for solving engineering problems and you get badges."
Musk responded: “I’ve wanted to do this for a long time :)
Our real-world simulations and video generation are the best in the world, but unfortunately we can only make games after releasing unsupervised FSD, which is safer than supervised FSD. "
