According to Kuai Technology News on January 28, according to media reports, SAIC Group previously stated on its platform that starting this year, semi-solid-state batteries will be the first to be mass-produced in new products such as the Zhiji L6.
Currently, the company is stepping up relevant work and striving to put the product on the market as soon as possible.
In addition, SAIC Group also stated that the company has been committed to the research and development and layout of advanced battery technology, and in August 2023, it established a joint venture with Qingtao Energy, a leading domestic solid-state battery company, to establish SAIC Qingtao.
It is understood that the company is committed to creating a new generation of ultra-high cost-effective solid-state batteries through low-cost materials and innovative technologies while maintaining high battery safety.
Unlike traditional lithium ions, solid-state batteries use solid electrolytes, which can effectively avoid safety risks caused by battery leakage and lithium dendrite puncture, and greatly improve battery safety.
According to the plan, semi-solid-state batteries will be mass-produced in the company's different models starting in 2024.
