The reversing radar is a parking safety auxiliary device for cars. It can inform the driver of surrounding obstacles by sound or more intuitive display, eliminating the trouble caused by the driver looking around when parking and starting the vehicle, and helping the driver eliminate blind spots and blurred vision, thereby improving driving safety.
After five years of development, the reversing radar system has undergone six generations of technical improvements. Regardless of the structure and appearance or the performance and price, these six generations of products have their own characteristics. The most commonly used ones are digital display, screen display and magic mirror reversing radar.
The first generation of reverse horn reminder
"Please pay attention when reversing!" Many people must still remember this sound. This is the first generation of reversing radar products. Now only a small number of commercial vehicles are still using it. As long as the driver puts the car in reverse gear, it will sound to remind people around to pay attention. In a sense, it does not directly help the driver and is not a real reversing radar.
Comments: When the car is in reverse, the voice prompts passers-by to be careful, but the price is cheap and it is an obsolete product.
Second generation roarer tips
This is the real beginning of the reversing radar system. When reversing, if there is an obstacle 1.8 to 1.5 meters behind the car, the roar will start to work. The more urgent the roar, the closer the vehicle is to the obstacle.
Comments: There is no voice prompt and no distance display. Although the driver knows there is an obstacle, he cannot be sure how far the obstacle is from the car, which is not very helpful to the driver.
The third generation digital band display
It is much better than the second generation and can display the distance of obstacles behind the car. If it is an object, it will start to display at a distance of 1.8 meters; if it is a person, it will start to display at a distance of about 0.9 meters.
This generation of products has two display modes. Digital display products display distance numbers, while band display products are distinguished by three colors: green represents safe distance, indicating that the obstacle is more than 0.8 meters away from the vehicle body; yellow represents warning distance, indicating that the distance to the obstacle is only 0.6~0.8 meters; red represents dangerous distance, indicating that the distance to the obstacle is less than 0.6 meters and you must stop reversing.
Comment: The third generation product combines digital and band together, which is more practical, but not very beautiful when installed in the car.
Fourth generation LCD display
This generation of products has a qualitative leap, especially the screen display began to appear dynamic display system. No need to shift into reverse gear, just start the car, the car image and the distance of obstacles around the vehicle will appear on the display.
Comments: Dynamic display, clear and beautiful colors, beautiful appearance, can be directly pasted on the dashboard, easy to install. However, although the LCD display has a delicate appearance, it has high sensitivity and poor anti-interference ability, so there are more false alarms.
The fifth generation of magic mirror reversing radar
It combines the advantages of previous generations of products, adopts the latest bionic ultrasonic radar technology, and is equipped with high-speed computer control. It can accurately detect obstacles within 2 meters around the clock, and remind the driver with different levels of sound prompts and intuitive displays.
The Magic Mirror reversing radar integrates multiple functions such as rearview mirror, reversing radar, hands-free phone, temperature display and in-car air pollution display, and is designed with voice function. It is the most advanced reversing radar system on the market.
Comments: Because it looks like a rearview mirror, it does not take up space in the car and can be directly installed in the position of the rearview mirror in the car. And it comes in a variety of colors and styles, which can be selected according to personal needs and car interior decoration.
The sixth generation of new products is more powerful
The sixth-generation product has added many new features based on the fifth-generation and is specially produced for high-end sedans.
Comments: From the appearance point of view, this system is more refined and elegant than the fifth-generation product; from the function point of view, in addition to all the functions of the fifth-generation product, it also integrates the audio and video system of high-end cars, and can watch DVD images on the display.
