On November 9, at the 12th China Automobile Forum hosted by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Wang Jun, COO of Huawei Smart Car Solutions BU and President of the Smart Driving Solutions Product Line, said that smart driving cannot rely on stacking hardware; Not a good driving experience.

He believes that the industry has now fallen into a vicious circle of "emphasis on hardware, light on experience, and weak on security". Wang Jun said that as of the end of October 2022, Huawei had sent 1.72 million sets of parts to car companies this year, including millimeter wave radars, cameras, etc.

Wang Jun also said that multiple models based on Huawei's distributed access and centralized computing hardware platform and AOS/VOS/HAS Core/Service software platform are under development and are planned to be launched in 2023.

Wang Jun said that so far, Huawei has shipped 1.72 million units to OEMs. In the future, the car-mounted Hongmeng operating system will definitely go to overseas markets.

In addition, at this conference, Changan Automobile Chairman Zhu Huarong said that the "lack of cores and expensive electricity" problem has caused serious damage to the production order of the automobile industry. From January to September, Changan Automobile lost 606,000 units of production, and the "lack of cores" caused a large number of semi-finished products. Inventory and "expensive electricity" lead to an increase in the cost of a bicycle by 5,000-35,000 yuan.

In response to the "core shortage" problem, Zhu Huarong suggested accelerating the process of generalization in the chip industry and promoting the transparency of the supply chain. Chip manufacturers tier 1 should establish new supplier relationships and establish a direct connection model with the automotive industry; " problem, Zhu Huarong suggested that the national level should crack down on the hoarding and speculation of raw materials by individual companies, strengthen policy guidance, optimize the allocation of upstream raw material resources, promote the recycling of used batteries and key metal resources at the industry level, and improve the power battery recycling management system.
