Short battery life in winter and slow energy replenishment in all seasons are still the two major pain points of pure electric vehicles!
On May 27, Nezha Auto announced some technical details of its self-developed "Tiangong Battery".
Nezha Auto said that "Tiangong Battery" focused on optimizing three aspects: battery structure safety, thermal management system, and intelligent cloud management.
In terms of battery structure safety, "Tiangong Battery" can achieve safety functions such as 1000℃ thermal insulation between battery cells, 800V electrical insulation of modules, and IP68-level waterproofing of the whole package through three-level protection of battery cells, modules, and whole packs. It can effectively control safety issues such as heat diffusion and insulation damage, and the energy density of the battery pack system reaches 185Wh/kg.
Public data shows that the lithium iron phosphate blade battery equipped in BYD Han EV has an energy density of 140KW/kg. It can be seen that the energy density index of Nezha Automobile's self-developed "Tiangong Battery" has reached the industry-leading level.
In terms of thermal management system, "Tiangong Battery" uses Nezha's self-developed HOZONEPT4.0 constant temperature thermal management system.
Nezha Auto said that with functions such as feedforward control and driving heating, it can increase winter endurance by 20%, reduce charging energy consumption by 2%, and improve low-temperature charging efficiency by 20%.
In addition, the battery thermal management system can infer subsequent driving conditions based on the vehicle's navigation settings, predict the battery's cooling or heating needs in advance, improve the operating efficiency of the battery temperature control system, and save 2% of energy consumption on a single charge.
In terms of intelligent cloud management, the battery active monitoring system equipped in "Tiangong Battery" has battery safety monitoring and early warning algorithms such as battery available capacity SOH (State of Health) calculation and lithium analysis calculation, and can cover different scenarios such as driving, charging, and stationary.
This active monitoring system can more accurately estimate battery energy consumption and provide the driver with the most accurate information on remaining range.
In addition, with the help of the big data cloud platform provided by 360, it can also develop the most suitable battery management plan for each vehicle through massive data analysis, implement one policy for each vehicle, and make the battery life longer.
Finally, according to Nezha Auto, the "Tiangong Battery" has completed testing and will be first installed on the B-class sedan Nezha S ( parameters | inquiry ).
Among them, the pure electric version of Nezha S equipped with this battery has a range of 715km under CLTC conditions and a battery system energy density of 185Wh/kg; the pure electric range of Nezha S extended-range version under NEDC conditions is close to 300km.
