March 10, 2022, China – STMicroelectronics’ L99DZ200G door-area system-on-chip increases the functional integration of the body control module, enabling single-chip control of front windows, rearview mirrors and lights, as well as rear window lifting functions. The rich functionality provides equally rich product advantages, including lower system quiescent current, higher reliability, faster installation process, reduced bill of materials, and shorter R&D cycle.
The L99DZ200G includes two H-bridge gate drivers, a gate driver for driving an external MOSFET power tube to control rearview mirror heating, a control unit and high-side driver for controlling the dimming of the automatic anti-glare rearview mirror, and five LED high-side drivers, three of which can operate in constant current mode to power lighting modules with higher input capacitance, and the other two high-side drivers are used to control ordinary LED lighting.
With two H-bridge drivers, the L99DZ200G can control two spindle motors simultaneously and drive an additional tightening motor for closing the electric tailgate or trunk. Both drivers can operate in generator mode, activating two low-side MOSFET switches simultaneously to protect the controller when an overvoltage is detected in the power rail.
The L99DZ200G also provides power management functions, including two 5V low-dropout regulators to power the main microcontroller and peripherals. Control communication interfaces include LIN 2.2a (SAEJ2602, SAE J2962-1) transceiver, high-speed CAN (HS-CAN, ISO 11898-2:2003/-5:2007, SAE J2284, SAE J2962-2) transceiver, and SPI 4.0 interface.
Diagnostic and protection features include temperature monitoring and overtemperature protection, a dedicated fault protection block that pulls down the gate of the external high-side MOSFET, and open load detection and overcurrent detection to protect all outputs. Each high-side channel has a current monitoring output pin. Overcurrent recovery and thermal failure support automatic recovery after a fault. There is also reverse battery protection and system safety features including a configurable window watchdog and a configurable reset generator.
The L99DZ200G is AEC-Q100 qualified and is in production now in a 10mm x 10mm LQFP64 package.
