Rohde & Schwarz and NOFFZ, a market-leading supplier of custom test systems, have collaborated to integrate the proven R&S compact test range (CATR) technology and the advanced radar echo simulator R&S AREG800A into the NOFFZ versatile end-of-line (EoL) radar sensor test system UTP 5069 CATR. This has created a fast, accurate and efficient test system that plays an important role in the transition of radar sensors from development to mass production.

The UTP 5069 CATR End-of-Line (EoL) tester from NOFFZ is designed for high-volume production testing and calibration. Among the highlights of this product is the extremely low-reflection darkroom, which is one of the results of NOFFZ's more than 30 years of experience as a system integrator. The UTP 5069 is very compact with a volume of less than 3.5 square meters. The relative movement of the DUT during calibration, loading and unloading can be achieved by integrating a robot or a goniometer. Two movement options can be selected depending on the requirements for movement flexibility, position accuracy and cycle time.
With this fast, accurate test system that optimizes production and saves costs, Tier1 radar sensor and module suppliers can prepare for the development of next-generation radar technology.
The R&S ATS1500C CATR chamber and the AREG800A radar target simulator series are already being used in radar development worldwide. At the same time, the NOFFZ End-of-Line (EoL) radar sensor tester UTP 5069 is also being used by radar manufacturers around the world because of its wide coverage of various test requirements. In addition, the performance of this new test system was verified during its development by Uhnder, a leading-edge radar module developer.
Although there are still many challenges on the road to achieving autonomous driving, the test system jointly produced by two automotive radar experts, NOFFZ and Rohde & Schwarz, has optimized the transition of imaging radar from development to mass production with its excellent performance and precise measurement, taking a key step towards promoting the commercialization of autonomous driving.
