On the morning of June 17, Baidu and BAIC Motors released a new car, Apollo Moon. It is reported that this model is based on Apollo driverless and is the fifth generation product of Baidu Apollo. Apollo Moon adopts a new generation of autonomous driving kit, with a comprehensive upgrade of chassis wire control, and supports remote control of air conditioning in the car and biometric door unlocking.
According to Wang Yunpeng, vice president of Baidu and general manager of the autonomous driving technology department, the overall cost of Apollo Moon, including the whole vehicle and the driverless kit, is 480,000 yuan, which has reached the operating cost range of online car-hailing.
