According to the data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the sales volume of new energy vehicles in China in 2020 was 1.367 million, of which pure electric vehicles accounted for 1.115 million. Although pure electric vehicles are greener and more environmentally friendly, they still have some problems such as insufficient battery life and charging difficulties. Especially in winter, the battery life of electric vehicles is seriously reduced, and many car owners dare not even turn on the air conditioner.

If we want to fully promote pure electric vehicles at this stage, we must first solve the problem of reduced range in winter. The Qichacha website announced that CATL recently published a patent called "Battery Heating System" with the publication number CN112563623A.

The patent abstract shows that the battery heating system includes a temperature sampling module and a control module. The temperature sampling module will collect the temperature of the battery. If the battery temperature is lower than the starting charging temperature, the control heating module will use an external charging device to continuously heat the battery module assembly. If the battery temperature is not less than the preset heating temperature, intermittent heating will be performed. The two different heating modes can control the battery temperature within a certain range, improve the battery capacity utilization rate and improve the endurance of electric vehicles.

With this new patent, the problem of electric vehicles' reduced range in winter can be effectively improved, bringing consumers a better travel experience. Of course, solving this problem is just the beginning. In the future, more new technologies will be needed to further improve the range of electric vehicles to avoid frequent charging. In addition, car companies should also expand the coverage of charging piles so that car owners can find and charge them in time when they need to.

The implementation of a series of national policies has comprehensively promoted the rapid development of new energy vehicles. Shanghai has recently planned an action guide for the new energy vehicle industry in the next five years. It is expected that the local new energy vehicle production in Shanghai will exceed 1.2 million vehicles in 2025, accounting for 35% of the city's automobile manufacturing industry. With Shanghai's early actions, first-tier cities such as Beijing and Shenzhen should also launch relevant plans or programs.

Although the country has not yet announced the ban on the sale of fuel vehicles, the EU has already made relevant plans, with the Netherlands and Norway banning the sale of fuel vehicles starting in 2025. It can be foreseen that in the next 5 to 10 years, new energy vehicles will be rapidly developed and promoted, further replacing traditional fuel vehicles.

Pure electric vehicles will become the mainstream of the era, but the problems that need to be solved in the future are not only battery life and charging, but also need more exploration in control systems, intelligent interaction, etc. I believe that more companies will join in and create more outstanding and innovative products.
