Hyundai and Kia Motors launch ultra-fast charging brand "E-pit" to accelerate the expansion of their own charging network
The ultra-fast charging brand "E-pit" is inspired by the "Pit Stop" in motorsports and aims to provide users with high-quality "Pit Stop Charging" exclusive services
"E-pit" provides three core service experiences: "Fast", "Easy & Convenient", and "Premium"
Hyundai Kia Motors is promoting the establishment of an ultra-fast charging ecosystem in the field of electric mobility through three key strategic directions: "establishing an execution network", "promoting multi-party cooperation", and "developing a charging infrastructure service platform".
Hyundai and Kia will continue to deepen their electrification transformation with the E-GMP electric vehicle platform, exclusive electric models and the ultra-fast charging brand "E-pit", and strive to create a better future of environmental protection and sustainable development.
In order to achieve a comprehensive electrification transformation and accelerate the expansion of its own charging network, Hyundai Kia Motors has launched the ultra-high-speed charging brand "E-pit". The "E-pit" brand represents Hyundai Kia Motors' vision for future charging service experience. It is inspired by the "Pit stop" in racing sports and aims to provide users with high-quality "pit stop refueling" exclusive services. Hyundai Kia Motors is actively preparing for the arrival of the electrification era, relying on leading electric vehicle technology and a comprehensive electrification layout to promote the establishment of a complete ecological system for environmentally friendly electric travel.

The "E-pit" brand will provide three core service experiences: "Fast", "Easy & Convenient", and "Premium".
"Fast" is the biggest advantage of the "E-pit" brand. The "E-pit" charging station can provide ultra-fast charging for exclusive electric models equipped with Hyundai Kia's 800V charging system. Users can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in 14 minutes, which is half the time compared to the market average, truly achieving a 5-minute charging and 100-kilometer range increase.
"Easy & Convenient" is the core goal of the "E-pit" brand. The "E-pit" charging station has realized the "Plug & Charge" function, which simplifies the charging operation. Users can completely abandon the physical charging card and greatly simplify the charging process through the mobile phone APP. There is no need to manually verify and pay. Just connect the charging pile and the authentication information stored in the electric car can complete the charging authentication and turn on the automatic charging function. At the same time, the "E-pit" charging station also further enhances the user's convenient charging experience through the use of interconnected applications such as "Digital Wallet" and "Digital Queue". It is worth mentioning that the "E-pit" charging pile adopts a better ergonomic design, adds automatic height adjustment function, rotation function and auxiliary handle, and installs an LED automatic sterilization lamp on the charging handle, which not only makes charging simple and convenient, but also provides health and safety protection for charging operations during the epidemic.
"Premium" is the real experience that the "E-pit" brand brings to users. The "E-pit" charging station has a stylish and simple roof design, showing the concept of contemporary minimalist design. The "E-pit" charging station allows charging to be unaffected by the weather. Even on rainy days, customers can enjoy the rain while charging and enjoy a relaxed and environmentally friendly electric travel life. The "E-pit" charging station has won wide recognition in the industry for its excellent design and has become the winner of the "2021 Red Dot Award" product design category.

The popularity and user experience of charging infrastructure have a vital impact on electric mobility. Hyundai Kia Motors is promoting the establishment of an ultra-high-speed charging ecosystem in the field of electric mobility through three key strategic directions: "establishing an execution network", "promoting multi-party cooperation", and "developing a charging infrastructure service platform".
The launch of the "E-pit" brand is the beginning of Hyundai Kia Motors' construction of an ultra-high-speed charging ecosystem. Through technology development, business cooperation and collaboration for the popularization of ultra-high-speed charging equipment in urban centers, it creates a good start for the establishment of an execution network and continuously eliminates the inconvenience of charging for users in urban centers. At the same time, Hyundai Kia Motors will also provide charging solutions to companies in need, thereby promoting multi-party cooperation and providing support for the rapid popularization of charging infrastructure.
Hyundai Kia Motors plans to develop an advanced charging infrastructure service platform to achieve win-win development with charging service providers, create new business opportunities, and improve the user experience of electric vehicles. In addition to charging service providers, various comprehensive service providers will also be introduced into the platform to provide users with value-added services such as parking and car washing that are compatible with charging, further improve the quality of charging services, and improve the ultra-high-speed charging ecosystem.
Hyundai and Kia Motors are actively accelerating the layout of charging networks to meet the convenient charging experience needs of electric vehicle users. In January this year, Hyundai Motor and SK Networks cooperated to transform a gas station in South Korea into an electric vehicle "charging station" with 8 "High Charge" ultra-high-speed charging piles, greatly improving the convenient car experience of local electric vehicle users.

This time, Hyundai Kia Motors launched the ultra-high-speed charging brand "E-pit" to further accelerate the popularization of ultra-high-speed charging infrastructure. It plans to open 12 "E-pit" charging stations in the rest service areas of Korean highways in mid-April this year, popularize 72 ultra-high-speed charging piles, and at the same time, build 8 "E-pit" charging stations in the core hub areas of the city center, including 48 ultra-high-speed charging piles. Hyundai Kia Motors will use the "E-pit" brand as a starting point to formally promote the cultivation of the charging ecosystem, and contribute to the healthy development of the charging infrastructure industry with innovative businesses and products for the future era of electric travel.
