In the past, many traditional OEMs’ understanding of smart connectivity was simply to integrate basic functions such as voice control, mobile phone connectivity, online music, and online video.
However, with the advancement of the intelligent wave, we can now see that various car companies are focusing on promoting their own automotive intelligent technologies, and a fairly complete ecological structure has been formed from the technology supply chain to the actual vehicle application. Chery's high-end brand EXEED is one of them.
Recently, EXEED held a private event on the M3X Mars architecture and released the "Lion Intelligent Cloud System Lion4.0" to provide us with an in-depth analysis of EXEED's intelligent journey.
What is the M3X Mars Architecture?
The M3X Mars architecture is actually a collaboration between EXEED and Magna, a top global supplier. It consists of four core components: Safety Nebula, Smart Galaxy, Comfortable Starry Sky and Power Star Core. It is officially called a world-class automotive intelligent architecture.
It involves many aspects of automotive intelligent applications such as autonomous driving technology, intelligent safety, car-home intelligent interconnection, and intelligent car manufacturing, and is compatible with A~C class SUV/sedans/MPVs and new energy vehicles. It is also an intelligent architecture that can cover all brand products and has evolutionary functions. The new generation of TXL under Xingtu has already made initial achievements in this architecture.
Security Nebula: Smart security still depends on the foundation
When it comes to intelligent safety, I believe many people first think of intelligent auxiliary safety systems. But in fact, the core of automobile safety issues still lies in passive safety, which is collision safety that everyone has only begun to pay attention to in the past two years.
For example, the M3X Mars architecture has been designed to meet the safety goals of global safety standards including EuroNCAP, IIHS, and FMVSS since its inception; in Asia's leading collision test laboratory, Xingtu products have undergone a total of 1 million hours of CPU simulation, and have a unique 25% small offset collision patented technology.
Take TXL as an example. It achieved the first place among mid-size SUVs with an overall score of 93.6% in this year's C-NCAP collision test. In high-speed collision, which is the most concerned by consumers and the most difficult to develop, the score rate reached 96.09%. The occupant safety evaluation score rate was much higher than the mainstream level in the industry, and the active safety evaluation even received full marks.
Smart Galaxy: Bringing safety and convenience to travel
When it comes to automotive intelligence, the two core elements that cannot be avoided are, of course, autonomous driving and intelligent connectivity. In this regard, the M3X Mars architecture is equipped with two intelligent black technologies: Lion 4.0 Lion Intelligent Cloud's strongest brain and L2.5 autonomous driving assistance system.
The first is Lion 4.0, which was actually released in 2018 and has now been upgraded to version 4.0. This system is backed by software and hardware suppliers such as Baidu, Intel, and Neusoft, and uses a 4-core 2.0 GHz processor, which has excellent control response.
Moreover, this system can also deeply realize intelligent interactive functions such as smart home interconnection, truly connecting your car, home, and life. Take the new generation of TXL as an example: the smart home interconnection function on TXL allows you to issue commands to the air conditioner, lights, sweeping robots, and even washing machines and rice cookers at home while driving, perfectly realizing the interconnection and control of the car and home.
In addition, there are two functions worth talking about in detail. The first is AR enhanced real-life navigation, which consists of a high-definition camera, GPS system, central control screen, and full LCD instrument. The system can provide drivers with real-time visual map guidance information through AR real-life display and free switching of dual-screen images in complex road conditions such as ramps, auxiliary roads, multi-lane switches, roundabouts, etc., thereby reducing the situation of going the wrong way.
The vehicle's perspective can also be rotated in the 3D view, and obstacles around the vehicle can be monitored and reminded through visual radar to better help the driver understand the road conditions in front, behind and on the sides of the vehicle.
The other is the Lion Intelligent Cloud System Lion4.0, which can achieve L2.5 level assisted autonomous driving. The system consists of three 77GHz millimeter-wave radars, five high-resolution cameras, a high-performance camera system, and 12 ultrasonic radar systems that surround the entire vehicle 360 degrees.
In actual application scenarios, when the assisted driving system recognizes that there is a car ahead, it will automatically adjust the speed and distance according to the speed and distance, and can achieve 0-180km/h adaptive cruise. In addition to highway conditions, it is also quite applicable to congested urban roads.
Enjoy the starry sky: intelligence adds comfort
If the comfort of a vehicle is determined by the interior materials and design layout, then intelligence is an effective means to make it even more comfortable. Thanks to the high flexibility of the M3X Mars architecture, EXEED is equipped with a chassis jointly built with top chassis supplier Benteler, which can be said to have a sufficient foundation for comfort.
At the same time, comfort is further improved through intelligence. Let’s take the new generation TXL as an example: it adopts dual 12.3-inch through-type high-definition LCD screens, plus high-end configurations such as touch-screen LCD air conditioning and paddle-type electronic shifting, making the interior of the car more technological and fashionable.
In addition, the A-pillar of the car is equipped with a facial recognition camera, which can quickly log into personal accounts by recognizing faces and adjust the user's exclusive seat position, instrument style, air-conditioning temperature, etc.
This facial recognition system also has nighttime and liveness recognition capabilities, so even in low-light environments such as garages and at night, there is no need to worry about unsuccessful recognition. When encountering a stranger driving, the owner's phone will also receive a safety reminder from the Xingtu App.
Based on this facial recognition system, the smart car system will also be bound to exclusive music, maps, wallets and other applications to form a complete ecosystem, such as listening to member songs, setting historical navigation locations, in-car payments, etc.
The second is the voice recognition function. Voice recognition control is not new in intelligent car computers, but it is quite difficult to make it extremely user-friendly. How to reflect the humanization? The voice system of Lion4.0, the Lion Intelligent Cloud System, covers more than 80 vertical semantic libraries and can recognize a variety of user voice commands with high accuracy.
In other words, voice control is no longer limited to standard Mandarin, but can also recognize multiple languages including Cantonese and Sichuanese. It also has a "sound source localization" function that can recognize voice commands from the driver and the co-driver. For example, if the co-driver says "open the window", the system will open the window on the co-driver's side. In addition to conventional control of the software and hardware facilities in the car, you can also query the car computer for information such as translation, stock prices, and license plate restrictions.
Power Star Core: More diverse power experience
On the M3X Mars architecture, we also saw the revolutionary changes it brought to EXEED in the field of car manufacturing. With the addition of the M3X Mars architecture, EXEED's power module can now adapt to a variety of power units such as traditional fuel and new energy.
For example, the 1.6TGDI third-generation ACTECO engine is now fully installed in EXEED models, and the 2.0TGDI engine will be installed in the EXEED VX 390T model in the future. EXEED will also launch a hybrid powertrain soon. This also means that in the future, EXEED will have more and more power configurations in new models.
