According to foreign media reports, Forsee Power, an expert in intelligent battery systems and a leader in heavy-duty vehicle batteries in Europe, has announced the launch of a new generation of ultra-thin batteries - Slim, which will constitute the world's thinnest modular battery and will also be equipped with a liquid cooling system.

In order to adapt to the changes in the company's target markets (including the off-road vehicle market) and meet the requirements of vehicle manufacturers and operators in terms of vehicle passenger capacity, cost and performance, Forsee Power's engineering team has developed a new generation of ultra-thin batteries, Slim, which has unprecedented technical performance and multiple integrated functions and can be installed on the roof, rear or floor of the vehicle. This revolutionary product will be able to meet the professional requirements of all applications in the field of electric mobility.
In addition to the existing high-power Pulse 2.5 low-profile battery module (ultra-fast charging and hydrogen hybrid charging), the new Forsee Power battery will be available in two versions: Zen high energy density (overnight charging) and Flex high energy density and high power (opportunity charging, i.e. charging as much as needed).
The battery has an energy density of 5 to 21 kWh, a voltage range of 50 V to 120 V, and a charging current of 106 A. This flexible product consists of battery modules of different sizes, which can create a battery system according to specific needs and vehicle space. The SLIM battery will also integrate a liquid cooling system to regulate the temperature of the battery module installed on the vehicle chassis, so as to optimize battery life and performance. The thermal management system can also adapt to different geographical regions and different climatic conditions.
Forsee Power's high energy density Zen battery will be the first integrated ultra-thin battery, consisting of three battery modules, equipped with NMC cells with ultra-high energy capacity, and equipped with an integrated liquid cooling system. This new battery system will be launched in spring 2021 and mass production will begin at the end of 2021. It is suitable for pure electric vehicles with long driving range and overnight charging.
Forsee Power will supply Wrightbus with its next-generation “slim” batteries, which are flat batteries that are easy to integrate into the chassis of a vehicle (standard bus or double-decker). In addition, Forsee Power is also studying supplying to off-highway electric vehicles, which is also a booming market.
