Imagine if your car had a pair of "perspective eyes". Wouldn't some traffic accidents caused by blind spots be relatively reduced? With the continuous development of the automobile industry, high-tech configurations have been created by talented designers and engineers. Among them, the research in the field of automobile perspective has never stopped. Imagine if all the blind spots of the car were turned into perspective, our driving would surely be much safer~
For example, at the CES Consumer Electronics Show a few years ago, Jaguar Land Rover launched a black technology, the 360° city virtual windshield, which can make the A, B, and C pillars of the entire car "transparent"! For example, at the 2020 CES, Bosch launched a very conceptual and technological virtual sun visor, etc., but these technologies have not yet appeared in mass-produced cars. So, what are the models with "perspective eyes"?
High chassis and strong passability are the key factors that many people prefer SUVs, because they don't have to frown like car drivers when facing bumpy roads. With an SUV, everything will be worry-free? Think about the scene when climbing a slope. The front of the car is raised, and the blind spot of the road is significantly enlarged. A slightly more complicated road condition will also make you frown. Obviously, the culprit is the front of the car blocking the road.
At the 2014 New York Auto Show, Land Rover released the Discovery Vision concept car, which was the first to demonstrate the transparent technology. However, they only made the hood part transparent, so it was named Transparent Bonnet technology. The implementation process is not complicated. The image of the road ahead collected by the camera is synthesized into the subsequent driving trajectory by the computer to achieve the transparent appearance.
What is even more eye-catching is that Land Rover's concept car hopes to connect the camera with the HUD, so that the driver can see the view under the transparent hood through the windshield. Due to technical limitations, in the mass-produced Land Rover models, this function transfers the image originally on the windshield to the central control screen and is named ClearSight GroundView, which is also called all-terrain perspective technology in Chinese. The technical difficulty of its realization is much smaller and it is also user-friendly, so the function can be realized and continued. With the transparent hood, coupled with its own off-road qualities, such as the all-terrain control system, the comprehensive off-road performance of this car has been taken to a new level.
BYD Song Pro has an optional configuration, which is holographic transparent image. It can not only realize the transparent hood and 360-degree panoramic view, but also can see all the road conditions under the chassis, realizing "chassis transparency". In simple terms, we can know the environment around the vehicle from inside the car, and on this basis, the car image can be turned into a "transparent" state, and the road conditions under the car can be seen at a glance, which is safer and more convenient when passing obstacles or unpaved roads, and can also allow the car to be parked safely and quickly in a narrower place, which can solve the problem of difficult parking.
BYD Song Pro's holographic transparent image is equivalent to an upgraded version of 360-degree panoramic image. In addition to the cameras around the car body, cameras are also installed under the car. The images taken by all cameras are combined together to make the surroundings of the vehicle, including under the vehicle, without any blind spots, making the vehicle look "transparent".
The amazing thing about this technology of BYD Song Pro EV is that the images of each camera are stitched together very well, with no boundaries between each image and no deformation of the image. It is just like looking down from above with real human eyes, with high clarity, smoothness and image restoration.
Dongfeng Yulon Luxgen, a domestic automobile brand from Taiwan Province, was once labeled as a "fuel tiger" because of the U7 SUV. However, after the U7 was discontinued and the previous 2.2T engine was abandoned, the brand gradually got rid of the impact of high fuel consumption and began to get back on track. As the most representative young SUV under the brand, the Luxgen U5 has gradually begun to take on the responsibility of selling in large quantities, and it is also a "black technology" domestic SUV that is easily overlooked. The reason why the Luxgen U5 is called a "black technology" domestic SUV is actually closely related to the configuration of this car. Although the U5 is an SUV with a top configuration of less than 100,000 yuan, it is equipped with an automatic parking function that is rare in the same class, which can meet the needs of automatic two-way side parking and reversing into the garage.
Its biggest highlight is that it is equipped with the world's unique AR View+ panoramic imaging system, which is the first of its kind in China. It consists of a chassis perspective imaging system and a surround-car safety imaging system, which allows the driver to easily grasp the surrounding environment of the vehicle. When changing lanes, the blind spot-free side safety imaging system shoots and instantly synthesizes images through a wide-angle lens, allowing you to clearly see the panoramic view, making up for the visual blind spots of the rearview mirror that cannot simultaneously view the vehicles coming from behind on both sides, and avoiding collisions. During driving, the rearview imaging system synthesizes real-time images through the dual-side and rear-mounted cameras to display the status of the vehicles coming from behind, assisting driving safety, and effectively discovering hidden dangers in advance to prevent rear-end collisions. From N01 to Nezha U, Nezha Auto's product release has evolved from low-end to mid-end development routes, which shows that it wants to win the trust of consumers through the cost-effectiveness and reliability of its products, relying on better user reputation. Nezha U has good competitiveness in terms of intelligent configuration, cruising range and practicality.
The recently launched Nezha U has a subsidized price range of RMB 139,800 to RMB 199,800. A total of 6 models have been launched, with two NEDC range versions of 400km and 500km. It is worth noting that Nezha U is equipped with the world's first visualized A-pillar configuration, which is based on the Nezha Automobile AR-View system. The A-pillar is transparently visualized by installing the OLED flexible screen on the inside of the A-pillar. The "eyebrow tracking algorithm" can also track the position of the driver's eyes through the camera, and adjust the display perspective angle of the A-pillar display in real time, completely solving the problem of the A-pillar visual blind spot.
Humans have been studying how to see through things, and when it comes to cars, currently most of them are done through cameras + computer calculations, which allow us to minimize the traffic hazards caused by blind spots and ensure our driving safety. If you are an automotive engineer, what technologies that can see through things would you think of to ensure our driving safety?
