Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's official website announced the 10th batch of "Recommended Model Catalog for the Promotion and Application of New Energy Vehicles" in 2019, and the Ora R1 equipped with lithium iron phosphate battery was exposed. According to the information, the new car's power battery will be replaced with lithium iron phosphate material, the battery monomer will be provided by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd., and the battery assembly will be produced by Jiangsu Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd.
In terms of power, the new car will continue to use the permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 35kw (48Ps) and a maximum torque of 125N·m used in the current model. The motor manufacturer is Shanghai Automotive Electric Drive Co., Ltd. In terms of battery system energy density, the lithium iron phosphate version of the ORA R1 is 130.5Wh/kg, the power consumption per 100 kilometers under working conditions is 10.2kWh, and the NEDC comprehensive working range is 251 kilometers.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the ORA R1 are 3495/1660/1560mm respectively, which is a typical A00-class small electric car. Due to the ultra-short front and rear overhang design, its wheelbase reaches a rare 2475mm in the same class, accounting for 70% of the total length of the body, which is comparable to most A0-class and even some entry-level A-class cars.
At the rear, the overall design of the ORA R1 echoes the front, maintaining a mellow style while creating a retro feel. The taillights are square with rounded corners, and the visual effect is very good when lit.
Summary: ORA R1 just launched a medium-range model with a range of 301 km during the 2019 Guangzhou Auto Show. Therefore, we infer that the launch of the R1 lithium iron phosphate battery version is not to replace anyone, but may become a short-range version in the series, lowering the price so that consumers can have more choices. In the future, with the launch of this new car, the entire ORA R1 series will have three range versions to choose from, namely NEDC comprehensive working condition range 251km, 301km and 351 versions, and the short-range version will further lower the price of the entire series and expand the target customer group.
