ETAS GmbH and BlackBerry announced that the two companies will jointly develop and market a safety-related software platform and related tools based on the AUTOSAR Adaptive standard for connected and autonomous vehicles.

The solution combines BlackBerry QNX’s POSIX-compliant, safety-certified real-time operating system and hypervisor with ETAS’ expertise in functional safety software based on the AUTOSAR Adaptive standard. It will provide a high-performance, secure foundation for the development of microprocessor-based vehicle computers and domain controller electronic control units (ECUs).

The solution will be ISO2626:2018 compliant and deployable in systems up to ASIL-D. ETAS and BlackBerry QNX will collaborate with tightly integrated solutions to support customers’ efforts.
