On June 11, the 2019 Asia CES officially opened, and the Bose Personal Plus audio system installed in the Hongqi E-HS3 by BOSE, a well-known in-car audio supplier, was unveiled in China. The Bose Personal Plus audio system uses 8 high-performance speakers and Bose's unique signal processing technology to create a 360-degree immersive sound effect, providing the E-HS3 cabin with a high-quality listening experience centered on the driver's seat.
The cooperation between BOSE and Hongqi makes Hongqi E-HS3 the first domestically produced car to use the Bose Personal Plus audio system. This system is equipped with a pair of lightweight 6cm Bose UltraNearfield neodymium magnet ultra-nearfield speakers inside the driver's seat headrest, and is equipped with a driver-centric listening mode, which is convenient for only the driver in the car. This mode is specially optimized for the driver's seat and can bring a 360-degree immersive sound experience.
At the same time, the Hongqi E-HS3 host infotainment system has built-in Bose PersonalSpace personalized sound field settings, which can make adjustable listening choices based on the driver's personal preferences or the number of passengers in the car, accurately reproducing the wide sound field concentrated on the front end to the comprehensive wrapping experience, making the music sound like it comes from the entire cabin, making people ignore the existence of the speakers.
While the Bose Personal Plus audio system places a heavy emphasis on the driver's listening experience, it doesn't neglect other passengers. The E-HS3 has a 16.5 cm Bose Super65 wideband speaker in each of the two front doors, which can bring powerful sound throughout the cabin. These compact and efficient speakers provide a very good sound experience, so there is no need for a separate bass box or bulky low-frequency speakers that take up a lot of space in the car. In addition, a 2.5 cm tweeter in each A-pillar and a 13 cm full-range speaker in each rear door, combined with the Super65 wideband speakers, a total of 8 speakers can achieve a balanced sound field throughout the cabin.
Final Thoughts
In addition to the Personal Plus audio system, BOSE also brought the 14-speaker Bose Performance audio system, QUIETCOMFORT active road noise cancellation technology (RNC) and Carwear concept technology to the Cadillac XT6 at this year's CES. From improving sound quality to eliminating noise to communication between car members, BOSE demonstrated various new ways of playing in car audio technology.
