You may not have heard of Faurecia, but there's a good chance you've sat in a car seat made by it.

This famous auto parts supplier achieved sales of 3 billion euros in China last year. The interior of the current "Internet celebrity electric car" Tesla Model 3 is provided by Faurecia, and the "Byton big screen" that once sparked heated discussions also has related solutions provided by Faurecia.

When it comes to making good car interiors, Faurecia is an expert in the industry and the technical support behind the OEMs.

With the development of automobile electrification, what ordinary consumers can see is that cars are changing from the inside out, but what they cannot see is that the industry is also changing. The biggest contributors to the transformation of the entire industry are suppliers such as Faurecia.

In Faurecia's plan, we can see that the two latest technologies, "Smart Cockpit of the Future" and "Creating a Winning Green Future", will become Faurecia's biggest profit drivers in the future.

Taking autonomous driving as an opportunity, traditional cockpits are transforming into smart cockpits, and the development of electrification has made Faurecia very interested in fuel cells.

What is the "Smart Future Cockpit"?

The fully integrated "future cockpit" is installed in the mass-produced demonstration car, demonstrating how the "future cockpit" with intelligent and integrated design can build a more connected, personalized and immersive in-car experience for front and rear passengers, helping every driver and passenger make the most of their time in the car.

Diverse Seating Architectures : New front and rear seating architectures developed in collaboration with ZF, based on Intelligent Dynamics technology and equipped with unique safety features, provide safety for all seating positions and orientations in autonomous vehicles while improving driver and passenger comfort.

Personalized thermal comfort system : Faurecia and MAHLE have jointly developed intelligent and efficient cabin thermal management and cabin air quality solutions to meet the personalized needs of drivers and passengers for thermal comfort.

Immersive sound experience : The new intelligent acoustic surface technology and noise reduction technology enhance the sound experience of drivers and passengers in independent sound zones.

It also includes two new technologies from the collaboration between Faurecia and Clarion Electronics:

In-vehicle infotainment system and intuitive human-computer interaction solutions: The high-definition display can be customized into four personalized zones to simultaneously adapt to the different functional needs of drivers and passengers, such as navigation, entertainment, software applications and infotainment.

The full HD camera provides the driver with advanced driving assistance to improve driving safety and expand the peripheral vision of the vehicle.

How to understand "Creating a Green and Winning Future"?

The fuel cell system integrates fuel hydrogen storage tanks and fuel cell technology, and is suitable for fuel stack technology for light vehicles and commercial vehicles.

Faurecia and Michelin have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture committed to becoming a leader in hydrogen mobility. The joint venture will offer a range of hydrogen fuel cell systems for all use cases in the short term.

Hybrid powertrain solutions to improve fuel economy, such as Exhaust Energy Recovery System (EHRS), which improves overall vehicle efficiency by recovering up to 75% of waste heat.

Resonance Eliminator : Micro-perforated material placed along the tailpipe eliminates resonances, reducing the weight of a typical tailpipe by 50%.

Autonomous driving provides huge room for imagination for future car cockpits. In Faurecia's view, the future smart cockpit is never as simple as "stacking" a few large screens, nor is it about giving all the high-tech to consumers regardless of cost.

Faurecia is pursuing a balance between experience and cost to ensure the affordability of technology, which means that technology must have a purpose: to realize a certain possibility and provide necessary services to consumers.

In addition, the future cockpit not only emphasizes the word "smart", but the most important thing is "personalization".

For the elderly, they may need the buttons to be as big, simple, and intuitive as possible.

For young people, they may be more pursuing a sense of technology. They want to see these advanced technologies, and they want to experience every penny they spend in the car.
