Overview

Electric vehicles now use PTC semiconductor ceramic components to heat the air or circulating water for heating. Due to the high voltage and high temperature involved, its reliability and safety have a very significant impact on the safety of the entire vehicle and people. The reliability and safety requirements for the system's auxiliary power supply system, IGBT and its pre-driver are very high. At the same time, there are also strict requirements on the insulation withstand voltage, thermal conductivity and tear resistance of the insulating thermal conductive materials used between the PTC and the circulating water pipeline, and between the IGBT and the radiator. The products recommended by this preferred device solution fully meet the PTC application requirements.

Device Advantages

RENESAS RL78F13 series MCU, low-power 16-bit RL78 core, main frequency 32MHZ; 64K Flash, 4K Data Flash, functional safety, 1 high-speed CAN for communication with the thermal management system, 11 PWM outputs for controlling IGBT switches, -40ºC to 105ºC operating temperature range.

· RENESAS's IGBT single tube RBN75H125S1FP4 has 1250V withstand voltage, 75A operating current, TO-247 plug-in package, low VCE, high-speed switching, -40ºC to 150 ºC operating temperature range, and high reliability.

· RENESAS's IGBT driver optocoupler PS9402 has high drive current, up to 2.5A. 8mm creepage distance, integrated VCE under-saturation voltage drop detection, soft shutdown, fault feedback and other functions. It can directly replace brand A optocoupler, and has better cost performance.

PI's DC/DC chip LNK304GN has an internal integrated MOSFET with a withstand voltage of 700V, and only a few peripheral components are required. The input range is 85VAC to 265VAC. Automatic restart, open-loop error detection, current limit and thermal shutdown protection, -40ºC to 150ºC operating temperature range.

MELEXIS's current sensor MLX91210 has a maximum detection current of 50A, 0.8mΩ on-resistance, low power consumption, 2.1kV isolation withstand voltage, SOIC8 SMD package, -40ºC to 125ºC operating temperature range, and high cost performance.
