On October 9, with fireworks and firecrackers ringing, the world's first high-altitude wind power project, the 60MW guaranteed grid-connected wind power generation + energy storage project (hereinafter referred to as the "Qiongjie Wind Power Project") undertaken by Kunming Institute officially broke ground. This project is not only an important project in my country's clean energy field, but also the world's first high-altitude wind power project with its ultra-high altitude of 5,370 meters.

The Qiongjie Wind Power Project is located in the vast mountainous area of Shannan, where the terrain is complex and the climate is changeable, but it also contains rich wind energy resources. The project has a total of 12 units, and plans to install advanced wind turbines with a single unit capacity of 5MW, with an installed capacity of 60MW. According to preliminary estimates, the annual grid-connected electricity of the wind farm can reach 162.74 million kW·h, and the annual equivalent load hours are about 2,712 hours, which will provide stable and reliable green energy for the local area.

It is worth mentioning that the project, with its ultra-high altitude of 5,370 meters, broke the altitude record of the Jicuo 100-megawatt wind power and energy storage integrated project designed and constructed by China Power Construction. The project is located in the Senyi District of Nagqu, Tibet. The wind turbines are built between 4,850 meters and 5,127 meters above sea level, with an average altitude of 5,000 meters. The total installed capacity is 100 megawatts and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation next year.
