During the peak summer period, the 100MW/200MWh grid-side energy storage power station invested and built by the Blue Sky Power Plant officially responded to the grid dispatching requirements, completed the peak-shaving charging and discharging work every day, and participated in the peak-shaving and valley-filling operation of the grid in a two-charge and two-discharge mode every day. At the same time, it cooperated with the power plant's gas turbine to provide better load regulation capabilities and improve the emergency frequency support capabilities under grid fault conditions. This energy storage system stores electricity during the off-peak period, "feeds back" to the grid during peak periods, shaving peaks and filling valleys and maintaining the stability of the large grid frequency, improving the safety, economy, reliability and flexibility of the regional power grid.
The project adopts an optimized design approach, combined with the existing facilities and lines of the power plant, and installed a 220kV split transformer (125MVA/2*63MVA). It uses a liquid-cooled lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system and has a total of 32 energy storage units and step-up converters. Each unit has a capacity of 6.9MWH. It is currently the largest energy storage power station in Hangzhou and the first 220kV grid-side energy storage power station put into operation in Hangzhou this year.
The power station is the first batch of new energy storage demonstration projects in Zhejiang Province during the "14th Five-Year Plan". It is located in Chongxian Street, Linping District, covers an area of nearly 9,000 square meters, with a total investment of approximately 320 million yuan. Construction began in early 2024, installation was completed in May, and power was turned on for grid-connected testing in June. In July, it officially served as a peak-shaving energy storage power station during the peak summer period, fulfilling its due responsibilities for the Hangzhou regional power grid.
Lantian Power Plant actively responds to the country's "dual carbon" strategy, accelerates the construction of a new power system to enhance the grid's ability to coordinate and interact with sources, networks, loads and storage, ensure the efficient use of new energy, and improve the power system's flexible adjustment capabilities and system security capabilities, in order to promote ecological and environmental protection and better serve the overall social and economic development and high-quality development.
