China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. signed the world's first vertical gravity energy storage engineering application project

On March 20, China Energy Construction Power Engineering and the People's Government of Chicheng County, Hebei Province formally signed an investment cooperation agreement for the Chicheng County gravity energy storage integrated project. Zhangjiakou Mayor Li Keliang and China Power Engineering Party Committee Standing Committee Member and Deputy General Manager Wang Xinping attended the signing ceremony and held discussions. Zhangjiakou Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Guo Ying, Municipal CPPCC Chairman Gao Feng, and Deputy Mayor Yan Liyan attended related activities.

The Chicheng County Gravity Energy Storage Integration Project is located in Chicheng County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, with a total planned installed capacity of 180 MW/1080 MWh. As the world's first vertical shaft gravity energy storage engineering application project, the Chicheng County Gravity Energy Storage Integration Project has achieved the world's first single-unit power, the world's first single-module power, and the world's first single-project installed capacity in the field of gravity energy storage. The project has been included in the list of new energy storage pilot demonstration projects of the National Energy Administration, and the project results have been identified by the Electric Power Industry Association as being at the international leading level.

After the project is completed, it will further promote the diversified, large-scale and stable development of the renewable energy industry, promote the Zhangjiakou Renewable Energy Demonstration Zone to achieve continuous leadership and multi-dimensional demonstration, provide new impetus for the transformation of Chicheng County's energy structure, and have a far-reaching impact on the county's optimization of its economic structure and promotion of industrial upgrading.

The signing of this agreement is an important manifestation of China Power Engineering's implementation of the country's "dual carbon" strategy and China Energy Construction's "1466" strategy. It is also an important measure for China Power Engineering to accelerate the layout of new energy storage business and promote high-quality development of local economy and society.

Bai Jing, director of Zhangjiakou Development and Reform Commission, Lv Dongqing, executive deputy county magistrate of Chicheng County, and relevant personnel from China Electric Engineering Marketing Department, Northern Regional Development Department, and its North China Institute attended the symposium.
