The construction of the Mulan Pumped Storage Power Station project started

Recently, the 2024 key project opening and completion event of Putian City and the groundbreaking ceremony of the preparatory phase of the Mulan Pumped Storage Power Station project in Xianyou, Fujian Province were held in Xianyou County. Fu Chaoyang, Secretary of the Putian Municipal Party Committee, attended and announced the start of construction. Wu Liyuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman and General Manager of Fujian Energy and Petrochemical Group, and Wu Wenen, Secretary of the Xianyou County Party Committee, delivered speeches, and Zhang Jiangeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Xianyou County Party Committee and Executive Deputy County Mayor, presided over the ceremony.

The Mulan Pumped Storage Power Station Project is a key implementation project of the National Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan for Pumped Storage (2021-2035). It has been included in the Fujian Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" Energy Development Special Plan and is a provincial key project for 2024. It was approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission on July 30, 2023. The power station has an installed capacity of 1,400MW and includes four reversible pump-turbine generator sets with a single unit capacity of 350MW. The start of this preparatory project will lay a solid foundation for achieving the established goal of starting the main project within the year.
