On January 8, the Yunnan Provincial Energy Bureau announced Yunnan’s centralized shared new energy storage pilot demonstration projects. A total of 19 projects were announced, with a total scale of 3.1GW/7.7GWh.
The projects announced this time include advanced adiabatic compressed air energy storage technology, all-vanadium liquid flow battery technology and other long-term energy storage related technology routes, involving 4 long-term energy storage projects with a total scale of 700MW/2900MWh. They are:
The Yunnan Lijiang Huaping Industrial Park Battery Energy Storage Project (Phase I), 100MW/400MWh, will use all-vanadium liquid flow battery energy storage technology. The project owner is China Southern Power Grid Peak and Frequency Regulation (Guangdong) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd.
The 100MW/200MWh new shared energy storage project in Malipo County will use lithium iron phosphate + all-vanadium liquid flow battery energy storage technology. The project owner is CGN New Energy (Malipo) Co., Ltd.
