As of December 20, the public charging capacity of State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company in 2023 reached 100,145,600 kWh, an increase of 81% year-on-year, breaking through 100 million kWh for the first time. One day later, the total daily charging capacity, public transportation and public charging capacity also hit record highs, breaking through the integer thresholds of 1.5 million kWh, 1 million kWh and 500,000 kWh, reaching 1,670,400 kWh, 1,164,800 kWh and 505,600 kWh respectively.
In order to fully guarantee the travel needs of electric vehicles, State Grid Shanghai Electric Power has promoted the construction of charging infrastructure with high quality. At present, 432 urban public charging stations, 25 high-speed service area charging stations and 325 special charging stations (including public transportation, logistics, and sanitation) have been built throughout the city. Since the beginning of this year, State Grid Shanghai Electric Power has continuously optimized and improved the construction of charging facilities in highway service areas, and completed the expansion of charging facilities in Jinshan Fengjing Service Area (two-way) and Chongming Gangyan Service Area (two-way) before the National Day, effectively guaranteeing the charging needs of holiday travel. Integrate the company's resources to continuously develop the public transportation charging market, and newly build and put into operation 6 public transportation charging stations such as Wenshui Road, helping to ensure that more than 50% of public transportation vehicles are replaced by new energy.
State Grid Shanghai Electric Power focuses on improving the "double efficiency" of charging operation and maintenance. It deepens the intelligent operation and maintenance and equipment operation control, strengthens the operation and maintenance capabilities of charging facilities, and creates high-standard and lean charging service quality. It continuously improves the quality and efficiency of charging network operations, establishes a market-oriented benchmarking mechanism for sites, optimizes network layout, investigates and manages inefficient piles one by one, and comprehensively eliminates inefficient piles.
