In terms of bidding, Datang, Energy Construction, China Resources, China National Nuclear Corporation, China National Energy Group, State Grid, China Southern Power Grid and other companies have announced 29 bidding projects with a total capacity of approximately 13.66GW.
Sungrow, Huawei, Hopewind Electric lead the list of successful bidders
According to statistics from the International Energy Network/Photovoltaic Headlines (PV-2005), in the domestic inverter bidding market from September 1 to September 30, 35 inverter manufacturers or agents including Sungrow, Huawei, Hopewind, Zhuzhou Inverter, Sofar, Kstar, GoodWe, Sineng, Chint Power Supply, and AISWEI jointly won 12.84GW of inverter bidding purchase orders.
Among them, Sungrow Power Supply won 1,185MW, ranking first; Huawei won 865MW, ranking second; Yunnan Energy Investment Logistics Co., Ltd. won 523MW, ranking third. In addition, Hopewind Electric, Zhuzhou Converter, Zhongtai Energy, Shouhang New Energy, Kstar, GoodWe, Sineng Electric and other companies also ranked in the top ten of the inverter bid list in September.
In terms of price, statistics from the International Energy Network/PV Headlines (PV-2005) show that the lowest bid project in September was the purchase of centralized inverters and their ancillary equipment for the Hangjin Wind, Solar, Thermal and Thermal Storage Ecological Governance Project of Inner Mongolia Energy Group. The tenderer for this project was Inner Mongolia Qianli Wind and Solar Energy Co., Ltd., with a purchase capacity of 100MW. Zhuzhou Conversion won the bid with a bid of 7.51 million yuan, equivalent to a unit price of 0.075 yuan/W.
The highest bid project is the centralized procurement of inverter replacement for photovoltaic power stations in 2023 by Three Gorges Energy (Yixin Xusheng Gonghe and other 3 projects), and the project bidder is the Three Gorges Group. This project is a technical transformation project, which requires the removal of the original inverter and the purchase of 60 500kW centralized inverters that meet the technical requirements of the local power grid. Hopewind Electric is the winning bidder with a bid price of 6.429 million yuan, equivalent to a unit price of 0.214 yuan/W.

State-owned enterprises account for 73.38%, who is the winner?
According to the information of public bidding, 15 enterprises and 57 inverter procurement projects (bid sections) were awarded from September 1 to September 30, with a total capacity of 12.84GW. Among them, there were 51 procurement projects (bid sections) of central enterprises with a total capacity of 9.42GW, accounting for 73.38% of the total capacity.
As for purchasing companies, nine central enterprises including China Three Gorges, China National Nuclear Corporation, State Power Investment Corporation, Power Construction Corporation of China, China Resources, Huaneng Group, CGN, Energy Engineering Group, and China Railway Construction Corporation have all conducted inverter procurement project bidding.
Among them, the statistics of International Energy Network/PV Headlines (PV-2005) show that the Three Gorges Group has bid 4030MW inverter procurement projects in this statistical period, ranking first in the inverter bid capacity list in September. Among them, the Three Gorges Group's 2023 photovoltaic inverter framework centralized procurement, with a bidding capacity of 4GW, is the largest bid capacity project in this statistical period. The project purchases string inverters of 300kW and above. Hopewind Electric, Huawei, and Sungrow Power won the bid. The project was the 31st batch of centralized bidding in 2023 of State Power Investment Corporation (Yellow River Company's 1500V string inverter and integrated platform). The project was divided into four sections with a total bidding capacity of 1384.5MW. Huawei and Sungrow became the biggest winners, winning two sections each.
In this statistical period, China Power Construction Corporation has finalized bids for 36 inverter procurement projects. Among them, Sungrow Power Supply won 6 projects with a confirmed bid capacity of 300MW, ranking first; Zhuzhou Power Conversion won 6 projects with a confirmed bid share of 155MW, ranking second; Huawei won 110MW, ranking third. In addition, 16 inverter manufacturers or agents including Hopewind Electric, GoodWe, Sineng Electric, Sofar New Energy, Chint Power Supply, and Ginlong Technology won the bid.
Among them, Chint Power won the bid for the inverter procurement project of the 200MW distributed photovoltaic power generation project (Phase I 29.7MW) in Longli County, Guizhou Province, China Power Construction Guiyang Institute. It is worth noting that Chint Power has focused on the distributed market for many years and has experience in developing applications in multiple scenarios such as household, industrial and commercial. Chint Power's string inverter is highly reliable, efficient and flexible, with a multi-channel MPPT design solution that can be adapted to a variety of complex application scenarios, and has been recognized by central state-owned enterprises such as China Power Construction.
China Resources Group has two projects awarded during this statistical period, with a total capacity of 76MW. Kstar and Shouhang New Energy became the biggest winners, with winning bids of 0.128 yuan/W and 0.11 yuan/W respectively.
Huaneng Group has one project bid in this statistical period. The project is the inverter replacement and reconstruction project of Golmud Power Station and Delingha Xiehe Power Station of Huaneng Qinghai Branch. Hopewind Electric won the bid. The details of the bid are as follows:
On September 8, the winning bidder for the centralized inverter-boost integrated unit procurement of CGN Dunhuang 20MW photovoltaic project was determined. Sungrow Power Supply won the bid with a unit price of 0.2 yuan/W. The project purchased 3125kW inverter-boost integrated units.
On September 19, the winning bidder for the inverter procurement of the 10.61MWP distributed photovoltaic power generation project of Ruida (Jinhua) Warehousing Service Co., Ltd. of Energy Development Company of China Energy Engineering Zhejiang Company was determined, and Jinlong Technology finally won the bid.
In addition, China Railway Construction Corporation also determined the winning bidder for an inverter procurement project during this statistical period. Beijing Shuipu Technology Co., Ltd. won the bid with a bid price of 0.115 yuan/W.
Sungrow won bids for 13 projects
The winning bid capacity is 1184.58MW
During this statistical period, Sungrow ranked first on the list of successful bidders, winning 13 projects (bid sections) from companies including Power Construction Corporation of China, China General Nuclear Power Group, China National Nuclear Corporation, and State Power Investment Corporation, with a confirmed successful bid capacity of 1,184.58MW.
According to statistics from the International Energy Network/PV Headlines (PV-2005), the highest bid for the project won by Sungrow in September was the centralized inverter-boosting integrated machine procurement for the CGN Dunhuang 20MW photovoltaic project. The project purchased 3125kW centralized inverters. Sungrow eventually won the bid with a bid price of 3.9923 million yuan, equivalent to a unit price of 0.2 yuan/W.
The lowest bidder was the inverter and ancillary equipment procurement project for the 100MW agricultural photovoltaic power station project of Zhucheng Zhongji Henghui Phase II of China Power Construction Huazhong Institute. Sungrow Power Supply won the bid with a bid price of 12.19 million yuan, equivalent to a unit price of 0.122 yuan/W.
Huawei won 8 projects
The winning bid capacity is 864.8MW
During this statistical period, Huawei ranked second on the list of winning companies, winning bids for eight projects (bid sections) from companies including Power Construction Corporation of China, China National Nuclear Corporation, State Power Investment Corporation, and Yunnan Lanhe New Energy Group Co., Ltd., with a total winning capacity of 864.8MW.
Among them, statistics from the International Energy Network/PV Headlines (PV-2005) show that the largest capacity project Huawei won in September was the first bidding section of the 31st batch of centralized bidding (Yellow River Company 1500V string inverter and integrated platform) of the State Power Investment Corporation in 2023. The project has a procurement capacity of 700MW and requires string inverters between 300KW and 320KW.
