Recently, CATL and HGP, a battery energy storage project development company, reached a 450MWh battery energy storage project supply agreement. The two parties will also establish a long-term partnership to promote the implementation of utility-scale and distributed energy storage projects up to 5GWh to meet the growing demand for renewable energy in Texas, USA.

The 450MWh battery energy storage project will be deployed in Texas and is expected to start commercial operation in 2024. CATL will provide HGP with an outdoor prefabricated cabin system, EnerC, which features high safety, long life and high integration. EnerC has both IP55 protection level and C5 anti-corrosion level, and can adapt to various extreme weather conditions. Thanks to CATL's integrated liquid cooling system, the safe and reliable operation of the project will be further guaranteed.

This collaboration leverages CATL’s expertise in advanced battery technology and HGP’s expertise in energy infrastructure and storage resource development. It will provide the market with more convenient solutions to meet the growing demand for clean energy in Texas and North America, and fully demonstrate the two parties’ firm commitment to achieving sustainable development.

HGP is a leading developer of energy infrastructure and energy storage resources headquartered in Dallas, Texas, USA, with decades of market experience in deploying investment-grade energy storage assets for the power grid.
