Recently, the Xinchang High-tech Park Energy Storage Power Station, the largest and most technologically advanced new energy storage project in Zhejiang Province, undertaken by East China Institute of Power Construction Corporation of China, was successfully connected to the grid. This project has a significant effect on improving the reliability and safety of power supply of the power grid, and can contribute to the construction of a provincial demonstration zone for new power systems in Zhejiang Power Grid.
The Xinchang High-tech Park energy storage project is one of the first batch of "14th Five-Year Plan" new energy storage demonstration projects in Zhejiang Province. It adopts the most advanced integration and temperature control technology in the country. The construction scale of this phase is 50 MW/100 MWh.
The project adopts domestic leading technology and has the advantages of high safety, long life, and high integration, meeting the 20-year reliability operation requirements outdoors. It adopts an integrated high-efficiency liquid cooling system, which significantly reduces power consumption compared to conventional air cooling. At the same time, through modular high-integration design, it saves more than 35% of floor space.
The energy storage power station is an independent grid-side energy storage power station. After completion, it will accept grid dispatch and provide power auxiliary services such as peak regulation, frequency regulation, voltage regulation, hot standby, emergency frequency support, and demand-side response. The grid-connected project significantly improves the reliability and safety of power supply, promotes the coordinated development of new energy and the grid, improves the clean energy consumption capacity, and effectively supports Zhejiang Grid to take the lead in building a provincial demonstration zone for a new power system, with multiple demonstration benefits.
