Recently, Sungrow and Samsung C&T of South Korea signed a supply agreement for Qatar's 814MWac photovoltaic project, and will provide it with string inverter SG320HX and medium voltage box transformer MVS8850-LV overall solution. After being connected to the grid, the power station will become the largest photovoltaic power station in Qatar, greatly increasing the proportion of local green energy, effectively offsetting the carbon emissions of oil and gas resources, and helping the local low-carbon transformation.

As an important energy exporter in the world, Qatar has many industrial cities and large carbon emissions from oil and gas facilities. In the context of carbon neutrality, energy transformation is imminent. The 814MWac photovoltaic project signed this time is the second photovoltaic power station built locally, which can provide green electricity for the two industrial cities of Ras Laffan and Masaieed. According to statistics, the power station can generate about 1.8 billion kWh of clean electricity per year, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 900,000 tons, which can meet the annual electricity needs of 140,000 Qatari residents*, and will become the main engine for Qatar to move towards carbon neutrality.

“The Qatar project is an important step for Samsung C&T to expand its global renewable energy business. We believe that this cooperation with Sungrow can effectively ensure the timely delivery and efficient and stable operation of the project, and set an example for low-carbon transformation in the world!”
