On the afternoon of December 9th, local time in Germany, Honeycomb Energy Europe officially signed a long-term lease agreement with the factory project team (PBH) for its Heusweiler module PACK factory project in Saarland (the project adopts the government-built, enterprise-long-term lease model). The formal signing of the agreement not only means that the construction progress of Honeycomb Energy's first factory in Germany has entered a new milestone, but also represents another solid step for Honeycomb Energy's business expansion in Europe.
The signing ceremony was attended by Saarland Governor Anke Rehlinger, Minister of Economic Affairs Jürgen Bakker, CATL Co-COO Zhang Feng, President of European Business Kai-Uwe Wollenhaupt, and Executive Board Members of the Heusweiler Battery Plant Project Group (PBH) Rita Gindorf-Wagner and Thomas Schuck, as well as other representatives from various parties.
The Heusweiler Module PACK Factory of Honeycomb Energy will be built by the local government on the basis of the Heusweiler-Eweiler Laminate Park and leased to Honeycomb Energy for 15 years, which fully demonstrates Honeycomb Energy's determination to develop in the Saarland of Germany in the long term. According to the agreement, the factory project will be completed in mid-2024.
Before the signing ceremony, Zhang Feng made a special visit to Jurgen Bakker, Minister of Economic Affairs of Saarland. This is also the first time that Honeycomb Energy headquarters has sent management representatives to visit Germany in the three years since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the visit, Zhang Feng had extensive exchanges with the Governor and Minister of Economy of Saarland on a wide range of potential business cooperation opportunities, including energy storage and the European Investment Bank (EIB), in order to expand the breadth and depth of the company's business in Europe. It can be seen that Honeycomb Energy has consistently adhered to the development strategy of going global, and has always attached great importance to and is full of confidence in its international business.
SVOLT is an energy interconnection technology company that is determined to promote its global layout. As early as November 2020, it announced the selection of Saarland, Germany to build its first factory, and in September 2022, it announced the construction of its second factory in Brandenburg, Germany. The signing of the long-term lease agreement for the module PACK factory confirms that SVOLT's strategy of going overseas is being steadily implemented.
