On December 7, the CNNC Tongxinquanyan 100MW/200MWh energy storage power station was successfully connected to the grid, marking the official entry of CNNC's first large-scale grid-side shared energy storage project into production and operation. This is the first large-scale grid-side shared energy storage project in Ningxia, and also the first such energy storage project to be connected to the grid in Ningxia.
The project started on June 1, 2022. It is a key project of Ningxia's "Six Hundreds" in 2022. It is located in Weizhou Town, Tongxin County, Ningxia, with a total investment of about 400 million yuan. A total of 30 sets of 3.45MW/6.7MWh energy storage systems will be built. The battery uses lithium iron phosphate batteries with an average annual discharge of 50 million kWh. The project will serve as a "power bank" on the grid side, improve the flexible adjustment ability of the grid, effectively realize the peak load reduction and valley filling of the grid, alleviate the peak power supply pressure, and promote the consumption of new energy. It is of great significance to accelerate the application of large-scale energy storage in Ningxia in power peak load regulation and renewable energy power grid connection.
