CATL will supply Honda with 123GWh of pure electric vehicle power batteries by 2030

On December 8, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. ("CATL") and Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. ("Honda") announced that Honda will purchase 123GWh of pure electric vehicle power batteries from CATL in China between 2024 and 2030.

In 2020, Honda and CATL signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement on new energy vehicle power batteries. The cooperation between the two parties covers a wide range of areas, including joint development, stable supply, recycling and reuse of power batteries. With the continuous expansion of e:N brand pure electric vehicle products and sales, the two parties have further strengthened their cooperation. Honda will purchase 123GWh of pure electric vehicle power batteries from CATL in China between 2024 and 2030. These power batteries will be centrally produced at CATL's Yichun plant.

The conclusion of this purchase agreement will help Honda consolidate its long-term stable power battery supply and demand system, ensure that both parties maintain their leading position in the global transportation electrification transformation, and set a new milestone for the deepening of the cooperation between the two parties. Both parties will give full play to their respective advantages, jointly enhance their competitiveness, and help the global electrification transformation and carbon neutrality vision to be realized as soon as possible.
